WHAT IS MICRONEEDLING/DERMAPEN ?? Many patients ask me the difference between microneedling, derma pen and derma roller. Today, we’re going to explore microneedling with dermapen.
I will discuss derma roller in my later posts. 😊
DIFFERENCE B/T MICRONEEDLING & DERMAPEN: Microneedling, also called Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT), involves the use of a medical device called dermapen which has tiny needles that make little holes in the top layers of your skin.
WHAT IT PROMISE TO DO WITH YOUR SKIN:
Skin microneedling accelerates skin regeneration through numerous microinjuries when skin is punctured with very thin needles which involves activation of growth factors which are responsible for the stimulation collagen and elastin. Moreover it enhances pe*******on of active ingredients used during the procedure.
STEPS OF PROCEDURE:
Numbing cream is applied to the area to be treated.
Once skin is fully numb, dermapen is used which works around the areas of the face.
It is usually used with special serums which are specefic for individual patient's need and skin type. It can be used with PRP and/or Mesotherapy for additional benefits.
WHAT TO EXPECT IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE PROCEDURE:
You can expect some redness which may last for a day or 2. Redness subsides as the healing begins and the results of more glowing, supple skin start to show.
RESULTS TO EXPECT: 📌Younger plumped skin appearance by collagen stimulation
📌Tightens pores & skin
📌Improves finelines and wrinkles
📌Improves scars
POST TREATMENT:
Creams are prescribed to promote faster healing and to avoid any possible infection.
To get truly effective results, you’ll need more than one treatment to continually build collagen and elastin.
