Its really important to take your power back from the scales and be sure not to let it influence how you feel about yourself.

The scales are another helpful piece of data we can use regularly as a guide, while being mindful of the host of other factors that can affect our bodyweight day by day.

I find a great way to build a constructive relationship with the scales is to weigh in routinely on a daily basis, under the same conditions when I wake up each day, and look for patterns over time, never comparing one day to another.

This way we can make informed changes over time and move more easily towards our goals, without letting one weigh in knock our self esteem.

Its now been around 6 weeks since I was able to properly prepare my own food or train in my usual gym environment.
Despite enjoying time with my family and travel with my job, these periods out of my normal routine fill me with fear and panic.
We all face times like these and its really important to remember that all we can do is our best.
We can do our best to make good choices, and we can do our best to stay active.
Every day won't always be perfect, but if we always push to do our best, even the bad days will have plenty we can be proud of.
