A major step forward for India-France defence cooperation!
Lieutenant General (Armaments) Gaël Diaz de Tuesta, National Armaments Director at the French Defence Procurement Agency (DGA - Direction générale de l'armement), and Dr Samir V. Kamat, Chairman of the DRDO (Defence Research and Development Organisation), signed a technical arrangement on November 20, 2025, at the DRDO Headquarters in New Delhi. This agreement between the DGA and the DRDO marks a new step in the strategic partnership between France and India, following the Roadmap for India-France Defence Industrial Partnership concluded in January 2024 on the occasion of the official visit of the President of the French Republic to India.
It will serve as a framework for specific implementing arrangements that may accompany collaborative projects between the two countries. The agreement sets up the establishment of a joint governance to manage collaborations in key areas such as aeronautics, space, submarine systems, autonomous vehicles, advanced materials, and artificial intelligence.
The culmination of several months of negotiations, this signature is a major advance in France-India defence cooperation, facilitating the rapid launch of innovative and shared projects.
