Din seria suprizelor mentionez un pacient cu o formatiune palpebrala chistica care s-a prezentat pentru excizie. Conform protocolului am trimis piesa la laboratorul de anatomie patologica iar rezultatul a relevat un carcinom de glanda sudoripara cu diferentiere endocrina. Per secundam s-a efectuat o reexcizie cu margini de siguranta iar pacientul a avut o evolutie favorabila.
🔬De retinut este ca nu toate formatiunile prezinta caractere macroscopice de malignitate. Doar analiza histopatologica poate pune diagnosticul de certitudine.

Happy to see my patient doing so well 7 months after lower eyelid reconstruction with Hughes flap and full thickness skin graft. Eyelids have such great healing powers over time!

Ultimul control postoperator din acest an la 7 zile d**a interventia de blefaroplastie superioara. Inchei anul cu o pacienta bucuroasa ca vederea s-a imbunatit in urma operatiei.

Sarbatori linistite alaturi de cei dragi si sa ne revedem cu bine in noul an! 🎄

❗️Eyelid reconstruction requires first of all the complete excision of the tumor based on the pathology report. Although Mohs surgery is the best option for some tumors, it is not always available and possible for the patient. That is why in many cases eyelid reconstruction is performed as a second surgical step after tumor excision. There are a lot of options for reconstructing the eyelid, depending on the location, dimension and type of tumor. It is never “by the book” as every patient is unique.

Caught in the act. The most important aspect in blepharoplasty surgery is the preoperative marking of the skin. Care is taken to keep the function of the eyelid intact.

Eyelid reconstruction is one of the challenges of oculoplastic surgery. Still, even after a wide excision, eyelids tend to heal very well if the proper surgical procedure is chosen.

Another visible example from the series of functional blepharoplasty. Patient underwent upper and lower lid blepharoplasty with fat removal under local anesthesia. Healing takes time but we can already note the improvement!

Glimpses from the OR. We had a full day with ptosis corrections, complex eyelid reconstruction and tumor resection.

Today’s challenge was a traumatic ptosis correction. Traumatic ptosis is heterogenous and can be categorized in aponeurotic, myogenic, neurogenic and mechanical. The evaluation must be thoroughly performed in order to decide what the best management is. The image (immediately postop) demonstrates a patient with traumatic aponeurotic ptosis who underwent external levator advancement.

Provocarea de astazi a fost corectia unei ptoze traumatice. Ptoza traumatica este diversa si este impartita in aponevrotica, miogenica, neurogenic si mecanica. Evaluarea preoperatorie trebuie efectuata riguros in vederea propunerii celei mai bune optiuni terapeutice.
Imaginea demonstreaza o pacienta cu ptoza traumatica aponevrotica imediat d**a avansarea levatorului prin abord extern.
