“The exhibition is structured around four things: two stories, one lesser-known recent discovery, and one well-known fact.

1: The Abomey jug, perforated in multiple places, symbolizes unity and cohesion in the pursuit of a shared goal. It can only be filled if everyone covers the holes with their fingers, suggesting the necessity of solidarity to prevent the world from drying up.

2: The legend of tear bottles dates back over 3,000 years. These blown-glass vessels are said to have been used by ancient Middle Eastern societies, in Roman times, and during the Victorian era to collect tears during mourning.

3: A study published in PLOS Biology in 2023 reveals that women's tears contain chemical compounds that reduce aggression in men. Sniffing these tears leads to a 40% drop in aggressive behavior.

4: The ongoing wars in Ukraine, Gaza, Sudan, and elsewhere.

'Echoes of Harmony and Silent Cries' serves as a reminder of the persistent specter of pain, while searching for a mythological path toward peace.” — Pavel Braila

We are thrilled to announce the representation of Vlad Albu.

Working across sculpture, installation, and photography, Vlad Albu examines the subtle – and at times – uncanny relationships we form with objects, space, and architecture. His practice investigates what he calls “the quiet life of things”, focusing on their existence beyond mere utility. Rather than tools or resources whose meaning coincides with their function, the objects in his work become lenses through which contemporary conditions of fragility, uncertainty, and support can be understood.

Gaep presented works by Vlad Albu in Gaep Presents (duo exhibition with Roberta Curcă, 2025) and a public art project in Mapping the City from the Outside (part of Accelerator Câmpulung, 2024).

A selection of recent works will be included in the gallery’s presentation at miart – Milan’s international art fair (17-19 April 2026).

NOW REPRESENTING: Roberta Curcă

In her drawings, objects, and artist books, Roberta Curcă pins down the ephemeral through a process that seeks to reconcile the chaotic nature of lived reality with the methodical acts of collecting, reviewing, selecting, and organizing material. She frequently adopts pre-existing systems for structuring and displaying information – such as stencils, swatches, palettes, and grids – in order to process thoughts, experiences, and emotions. As the artist notes, her current practice engages with “layouts and templates from scientific illustrations, archives, apps or industrial contexts and architectural elements.”

Gaep presented works by Roberta Curcă in Back to Where It All Began (group exhibition, 2023, part of the project Accelerator. Mentoring and Production for Emerging Artists), Gaep Presents (duo exhibition with Vlad Albu, 2025) and Memories and Prophecies (group exhibition, 2025, where she participated as an invited artist).

A selection of new works will be featured in the gallery’s booth at RAD Art Fair 2026.

What happened to solidarity? Pavel Braila raises the question through a series of perforated ceramic objects inspired by ceremonial vessels and a 19th-century legend about King Ghèzo of Abomey, who transformed a perforated pot into a symbol of unity.

Discover this new series of works in the artist's upcoming solo exhibition.

We are thrilled to announce the representation of Vlad Nancǎ.

With a sustained interest in architecture and the transformation of the built environment, Nancă revisits 20th-century modernism to imagine possible futures in response to contemporary conditions. His sculptures, installations, and wall-based mixed-media works frequently draw on archival material and references from art and architectural history, engaging with themes such as modernist architecture and modernity, the space race, (failed) utopias, and speculative narratives about future modes of living.

Gaep presented a work by Vlad Nancă in the group exhibition Memories and Prophecies (November 2025 – January 2026), where he participated as an invited artist. His first solo show with the gallery will open on April 24, 2026.
