Cytogenomic Medical Laboratory participated at the 2nd Edition of the International Congress of Preventive Medicine, taking place in Bucharest, March 19–21, 2026.
🧬 Our geneticist, Dr. Maria Stratan, presented:
“Preventive medicine in the genomics era: expanded carrier screening according to ESHRE recommendations.”
In the context of rapid advancements in genomic medicine, preventive strategies are shifting from reactive approaches to proactive, data-driven decision-making.
🔬Importantly, most affected children are born to families with no known history, reinforcing the clinical value of expanded carrier screening (ECS) as a population-wide preventive tool.
Aligned with European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) and international guidelines, this approach emphasizes:
- Pan-ethnic screening over ancestry-based limitations
- Reproductive autonomy through informed choices
- Early identification of genetic risks before or during pregnancy
At Cytogenomic, we integrate these principles through advanced solutions such as Linea Vita, our expanded carrier screening test, designed to evaluate more than 200 genetic conditions and support couples in making informed reproductive decisions.
Because in the genomics era, prevention means empowering patients with knowledge, before risk becomes reality.
