🏋️♂️Resistance exercise is the main stimulus that builds muscle mass.
🥛Protein intake is essential to supports muscle growth by providing the necessary building blocks.
🥘Does a normal diet already provide enough protein? Or is a higher protein diet/protein
supplementation required? And if so, how much of a difference does it make?
💪🏻The exact amount of extra muscle mass that will be gained due to extra protein will depend on many things such has how much extra protein is ingested, habitual protein intake, how much training is performed etc.
🥩But to get an idea of the effect: you can expect about 0,7 kg of extra muscle mass in 3 months if you ingest extra protein.
📱This was considerably less than the ~2.0 kg my Instagram audience expected when I polled them.
💡In conclusion: extra protein intake increases muscle mass gains during a resistance training program, but less than what people expect on average.
