Dr Arshad chohan a name everyone is familiar is in jail without any proves.
A message from Dr Sana Chohan :
Salaam.
I am Dr. Sana Chohan, Assistant professor in ENT, daughter of Dr. Arshad Chohan Professor of ENT.
I am writing this with extreme desperation that my 69-year-old father is being kept in jail since the last 6 days without any proven crime under the unlawful influence of Dr. Malik Mukhtar Ahmad Bharath, Minister of state for National Health Services for the sake of his popularity and vote bank in Bhalwal. Our family is being harassed, threatened, and blackmailed since the last 8 months after the very unfortunate demise of a 6-year-old girl during anaesthesia before adenoidectomy. The case was discussed in IHRA for months in light of all evidence including patient reports, consent form, hospital registration documents, cctv footages and post mortem report. The decision announced did not have any mention of any negligence. However an administrative issue was highlighted regarding the credentials of Dr. Aneeq-ur-Rehman, renouned anaethesiologist, retired from DHQ hospital, who has been working with many senior ENT surgeons for over 30 years, about which my father was not previously aware (evidence of conversations about demand of and communication about credentials is present). For this issue, all due penalty was paid to IHRA by my father. But the written decision given by chairman IHRA after long delay came out different from the decision that was announced because of the influence of the minister. It contained mention of gross negligence and unavialability of equipment in the OT. Whereas there is complete record of multiple inspections of the hospital and OT by IHRA before and after the incident without any kind of objection. The Chairman IHRA himself mentioned being "under pressure by state minister" multiple times indirectly. An appeal was made against the IHRA decision in the ministry of health which was initially accepted but hearing was delayed multiple times. In the hearing, despite all the evidence being presented again and the expert doctors claiming that they did not mention any evidence of negligence, the appeal was rejected on the grounds that it has been submitted late, as the same minister was sitting in the office next door.
An FIR was registered by the complainants party on the basis of IHRA decision in November 2025 which was again illegal according to law. A quashment appeal was made in high court which was accepted but the hearing date given was to be in April 2026. The complainants team has not been showing up at hearings in the session court for the bail and requesting delays repeatedly since November in order to delay the case going in trial as they have no evidence of their false claims. Meanwhile their lawyer, Advocate Arooj Fatima and a person named Syed Ahsan Shah have been blackmailing our family with a demand of 10 crore rupees.
My father has been playin all fair till now believing everything will eventually follow the truth. However we have now come to the conclusion that there is no fair justice in this country. On monday 23rd february at the court our lawyers were informed by the reader that the bail is confirmed. As soon as they left, a random person came to meet the judge and immediately a decision of rejection of bail was announced without any reason or explaination and police arrested my father from there. The file of all arguments presented by the main lawyer was misplaced and his name was also not mentioned in the list of lawyers in the written decision recieved later. Since then court hearings are being delayed everyday due to one reason or the other and now everything is on hold till monday due to the weekend. Their lawyer is not showing up in court but holding press conferences which is illegal during an ongoing case. I have been able to establish contact with my father today after 3 days and got to know that since the last 3 days no food, medicines and clothes we sent to jail have reached him. He is a 69-year-old diabetic patient! He has had a successful career of over 40 years. Treated thousands of patients and trained hundreds of doctors during this time. His patients vouch for his professionalism. If this can happen to him it can happen to any one of us. People holding offices in authorities like IHRA and Ministry of Health are supposed to work to support doctors to improve healthcare system in the country and not only to please potential voters in their respective constituencies following public perceptions created by social media campaigns. This is all evident by the recent press conference happening in Bhalwal where Mr. Ahsan is repeatedly praising the minister for helping bring justice when it is not a minister's job to interfere in the justice system.
