Mrs. A's recognises talent and creativity.

Met some students today with a different set of creativity and vision.

These students were creating their own visuals, which they used to create their own narratives and stories. They used their imagination to convert these into a game, with their own sets rules.

It was amazing to see how students can use their skills to create a world beyond the one in which we live in.

This call for the system to create more space so that creativity can come to life...

Little feet have skills...

Little feet have been using their little hands a lot last week.

Together we have pushed, pulled, spinned and we have been using lots of words related to these actions. We have yelled "stop", "more", "fall down", "go" amongst many other words.

Fun does not have to be restricted. Together with little feet we go all out to have much fun...

Met a couple of little feet earlier. They reminded me how easy it is for kids to mingle, play and interact with each other.

Some of them had good language skills, some of them required much support to communicate their needs. But still this did not matter. They came together irrespective of the level of their skills.

Little feet get tired too. They get frustrated, hungry, thirsty and a lot more.

Sometimes we forget that we need to help these little people with what they need to say.

Sometimes we forget that we need to teach them the words that go with these feelings, emotions and life's situations...

Teach little feet how to let you know that they need help...

Children grow up to become adults.

Parents:

🌱What are your plans for them?

🌱What skills are you equipping them with to ensure that they become independent (or semi independent?

🌱What does their future looks like?

These are hard questions but you have to start thinking about these, not only to best assist them but also to prepare yourselves as you assist them on their journey.

You may feel unsupported, but their teachers, therapists, family members and others who are within your circle of support should be able to assist.

Children grow up to become adult...FAST... so we need to start thinking... start planning....

Today was a gentle reminder that speech therapeutic intervention can happen everywhere and on the go.

The setting changed from the classroom to the beach as little feet moved to explore vocabularies related to the seashore.
We got to explore through our different senses and learn different words...

We talked about the fish 🐠, waves 🌊, corals 🪸, starfish ⭐️. We got our feet wet and sandy.

We discovered what we like about the beach and what we do not like about the beach. It was a hot day but we had lots of fun.
