🔵 Official Announcement: The New SMRA Executive Committee (2025-2026)

Following a rigorous selection process involving meticulous screening and comprehensive interviews, the Election Committee of the Sudanese Medical Research Association (SMRA) is proud to announce the official formation of the new Executive Committee Offices.

The selection was driven by core values of field competence*, *cumulative experience*, and strategic vision* to lead the association through the upcoming term.

Dear Colleagues and Research Leaders,

The Sudanese Medical Research Association (SMRA) is committed to excellence in medical research and establishing a culture of scholarly inquiry within our community. To achieve our vision of leading medical research according to international standards, we are currently seeking experienced leaders to join our Scientific Committee.

We are looking for individuals passionate about research who are willing to serve in an advisory and supervisory capacity to improve our programs, curricula, and facilities.
We are opening the call for scientific committee membership across the following departments:
Public Health
Pharmacy
General Medicine (and its subdivisions)
Surgery (and its subdivisions)
Medical Laboratory Sciences (and its subdivisions)
Dentistry (and its subdivisions)..and all related medical fields.

Role and Responsibilities:
As a member of the Scientific Committee, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of medical research specially inSudan.

Your responsibilities will include:
1. Supervision:
Guiding young researchers through the research process, from topic selection to final publication.

2. Curriculum Development:
Providing research topics to members and supervising their ex*****on.

3. Advisory:
Offering recommendations to the SMRA Executive Office regarding scientific direction.

4. Representation:
Representing the association in internal and external forums.

4. Leadership:
Voting in the General Assembly and contributing to the strategic goals of the association.

Sudanese Medical Research Association - SMRA is pleased to announce that our institution has been selected to participate in AFRICAN Science Frontiers Initiatives "ASFI" 5 - 10 Program for 2026.

The overarching goal of the ASFI 5–10 Program is to strengthen institutional capacity, foster excellence in research and mentorship, and promote continental collaboration. Through this program, ASFI will support selected institutions in equipping emerging scholars nominated to the program with the knowledge, skills, and networks necessary to generate impactful research and scientific publications, and secure competitive grants throughout 2026, thereby driving Africa’s long-term socio-economic transformation.
The duration of the program is 1 year, it will be conducted virtually, containing several interactive workshops, courses and training sessions worthy hundreds of Dollars, all will be free of charges.

SMRA will nominate 5 candidates whom are, i) PHD or Equivalent degree holders (MD degree or other), ii) Must be not more than 3 years since obtaining the degree. iii) 3 of the 5 participants should be females.
iv) The age limit for Males is 40 years and for Females 45 years.
