You can replay a simulator session a hundred times and still not know why it went wrong. 👁️

In , ( ), rail, and other safety-critical training environments, debriefs are very good at showing what happened.

They are much less helpful at explaining why a trainee responded the way they did.

Traditional systems capture performance, not perception. They don’t show what the operator actually noticed, missed, or fixated on when seconds mattered.

Smart Eye’s in-cabin sensing is now ready to run on Renesas’ R-Car Gen 5 platform. 🧩

The pre-integrated solution makes our driver and occupant monitoring software available on the R-Car X5H SoC, where ASIL-grade in-cabin sensing runs alongside infotainment and other high-performance workloads on a single compute unit.

As part of the integration, the software is included in the Renesas RoX Whitebox SDK, giving OEMs and Tier 1s access to a ready-to-run in-cabin sensing stack early in platform evaluation.

With pre-validated camera support and a lightweight compute footprint, it reduces integration work and shortens the path from evaluation to production.

Renesas will present invitation-only demonstrations at CES 2026. Smart Eye will also be showcasing its automotive technology portfolio in the West Hall.

For in-cabin monitoring to support adaptive restraints, depth sensing needs to be both reliable and viable at the system level.

At , Smart Eye and Airy3D are demonstrating how depth for driver and occupant monitoring can be achieved using a single passive 3D sensor, without relying on multiple sensors or complex active illumination.

The live demo combines Smart Eye’s eye tracking and body-posture monitoring software with a single automotive image sensor enhanced by Airy3D’s DepthIQ technology.

Together, they show how robust 3D understanding of driver and occupant behavior can be achieved with a compact, production-ready sensing setup that holds up under real-world conditions.

The demonstration will be shown by invitation at Smart Eye’s CES booth.

Driver monitoring doesn’t run in isolation in a modern vehicle. It has to interact with the rest of the system around it. ⚙️

At , Smart Eye and Green Hills Software are demonstrating a mixed-criticality automotive platform where safety-critical driver monitoring runs alongside a digital instrument cluster on a single automotive ECU, using Green Hills’ ASIL-certified INTEGRITY RTOS.

When Smart Eye’s software detects driver distraction, the event is shared across the vehicle system. Alerts are shown on the instrument cluster, logged by the gateway ECU, and sent to the cloud for diagnostics and analysis.

This flow shows how fits cleanly into a networked vehicle architecture, while maintaining safety and system isolation.

The joint demonstration will be shown at CES 2026 in the Green Hills Software booth ( #6227) in the West Hall.

For many OEMs, finding space for a ( ) camera in the cabin has previously meant balancing performance with design constraints.

Together with Alps Alpine and AUO Mobility Solutions, we’re demonstrating an under-the-display DMS option at : a camera integrated directly behind the instrument cluster.

The camera sits fully hidden behind the LCD with no visible cutout, while still providing the NIR performance required for reliable distraction and drowsiness detection.

It maintains display uniformity and leaves the cockpit design unchanged, offering a high-performance, unobtrusive option for integrating driver monitoring into the vehicle architecture.

📍 This under-display solution will be showcased in both the Smart Eye booth (West Hall, #3327) and the Alps Alpine booth (West Hall, #3826) at CES 2026.

Some companies give new hires a welcome email. We give them the Lucia procession. 🕯️

Today we celebrated Lucia at Smart Eye – a very Swedish tradition involving candles, early-morning singing, and an unreasonable amount of saffron buns.

Seven of our newest colleagues took the lead and handled the whole thing with impressive composure.

Now our Gothenburg office is officially in holiday mode.
