You can give birth! What do you need to feel safe? We will hold your space.
🩶 Giving birth the natural way is completely normal. If mostly all mothers would have needed modern medical emergency treatment our species would not have survived and thrived til this day. But of course! Some women and babies needs the hospital care while giving birth. Assume the mum or baby is sick, birthed premature or any complication occurs, during or after birth, the hospital would be the better choice than a Birthcenter.
🩶 Barnmorsketeamet believes your body is fully capable to give birth. That’s why we established the first Birth Center in Sweden. Located in Gothenburg, BB Gårda.
🩶 By choosing a physiological birth you will be empowered, feeling safe and secure in your own body. And you lower the risk of complications and interventions.
🩶 Our team of midwives will prepare you and your partner to be the perfect team to get the optimal conditions to have your birth just the way you imagine. With our support you will take part of the hormonal dance that the physiological birth process entails.
🩶 So, what is a physiological birth? The process is guided by hormones produced in your body. When they are supported to work as intended they can create a positive birthing experience for both of you and the best possible start for your baby.
The main hormone produced in your brain is Oxytocin and can be activated in many ways. A peaceful environment, people you already know, warmth, darkness, water, quitness and safe space help promote the activation.
🩶 The most important factor in your ability to give birth is that your supporting team in the moment have FAITH in you. That’s not just a belief, it’s backed by science.
🩶 When your system is flooded in Oxytocin your brain is influenced to find new connections for deeper areas of empathy, understanding your childs needs and parental instincts that you haven’t experienced before. In a physiological birth these connections are activated.
🩶 There are times when an emergency can come quickly — and when that happens, we have the training, expertise, and experience to step in with the appropriate care.
