Garden party to celebrate the National Day of Egypt. Ambassador Ahmed Adel and his wife Marwa Amin had invited many to a garden party today in Stockholm. Very nice reception at the Residence of Egypt in Stockholm where I met old and new friends.

As Chairman of SWEACC I know we have a lot of interesting business and investment opportunities in East Africa but inside our cluster work I know Swedish and Scandinavian companies has a pan African mindset, we do too. As Chairman of a home care business in Sweden I also interested in healthcare beside any sustainable business. Mr Joachim Davidsson (CEO B-Open Nordic) was elected Chair of the Board for the Swedish East African Chamber of Commerce (SWEACC) during this year’s Annual General Meeting and he will replace Mr Jan Furuvald whom hold this position since 2015. B-Open Nordic have been member of SWEACC for many years and we see alot of potential growth for Swedish and Scandinavian companies in Africa, but also more export opportunities from Africa to Europe.

“First, I like to say thank you to members who elected me but also Mr Jan Furuvald which I now replace as Chair. Mr Furuvald have done an exemplary work as our Chair for many years, and he will be a hard act to follow. I am committed to working alongside the Chamber's partner, especially the EAC Embassies, to continue our great efforts in driving economic development for this region in Africa. Want to continue our work for member value to continue develop clusters where members and others can meet to exchange information and opportunities. The Swedish – East African Chamber of Commerce (SWEACC) was founded in November 2010 as the first Swedish chamber of commerce to focus on business opportunities in Africa. SWEACC demonstrates the great business potential of the EAC-region. The prime objectives are to provide a meeting place for business people with an interest in the EAC and to organize seminars which provide insight in the economy and private sector of the EAC. The Chamber also offers a platform for the Embassies and visiting dignitaries, where they can meet informally the Swedish and diaspora business communities.

Save the Date May 9th – SWEACC Business & Investment Forum 2023 (SWEACC-BIF 2023). Today the Program Team inside the SWEACC - BIF 2023 partners met to work at the program. SWEACC, Kenya Embassy, Tanzania Embassy and Uganda Embassy on link from Copenhagen. Rwanda representative was on assignment in Kigali. This business forum will be held from 9th to 11th May 2023 in Uppsala, Sweden. The event will carry two of the most relevant topics during the 21st century, Agribusiness and Sustainable Investment & Finance.

The main goal is to increase and sustain business opportunities including but not limited to the agriculture, water and sanitation, Energy, Health sectors between EAC, Sweden, and all the Nordic Countries. SWEACC-BIF 2023 is organized by the Embassies from the East African Community (EAC) accredited to the Kingdom of Sweden (Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Uganda) in partnership with the Swedish-East Africa Chamber of Commerce (SWEACC).

Lunch among friends from Kenyan and Rwanda Embassy, this time at Sjöstaden Skybar that is located at the top of Sthlm 01 skyscraper in Hammarby Sjöstad (southern part of Stockholm). Thank god for hybrid work! This is really the advantage of having a fully digitized business, you can turn in to a hybrid work place when ever you want. Today we are covered in snow in Stockholm (my house) so everyone is working from home. Right in my house we are two consultants, and two university students who all work from home until the authorities have cleared the roads for us and public transport again. It will probably take all day so no traveling until tomorrow.

So we work as a Management Consultant and focus on management in knowledge driven business and international business development. I (Joachim Davidsson who are CEO) am especially interested in information technology, healthcare and sustainable business. Today we visted visited KTH (the Royal Institute of Technology) in Stockholm to see some new innovation soon ready for commercialization. We cannot tell you more as this is still Lab stage. KTH is a well renowned university and one of the key resources we have in the Swedish innovation ecosystem. Perhaps many of you know that Sweden is strong in Transportation, ICT and Telecom, along with sustainable innovation but Sweden is particularly strong in biotechnology and healthcare, where pharmaceuticals and medtech innovations are key exports.

International trades are important for our economy, as well as being a technology leader. When it comes to research and development (R&D), Swedish companies invest more than 3% of the country’s growth domestic product (GDP) in R&D. We work with management in knowledge driven companies and international business development. I also work with early-stage technology and start-ups. This will be arranged by Karolinska University Hospital, Karolinska Institutet together with The Lancet Oncology, Global Health Catalyst, Elekta Foundation the Rwanda Embassy in Sweden.
