I turned 45 last week. And for me, that’s always a good moment to pause, take a breath, and reflect. Honestly, as I approach my 50s, there’s a whisper of uncertainty: ” what my next decade
Of my life look like?”
It’s a little scary. And I think most people avoid thinking about it. We plan for a good pension, we talk about retirement, but what’s the point of financial freedom if you can’t hike, dance, or carry your own groceries?
The truth is, my body isn’t what it was in my 20s or 30s. That’s why I’ve changed how I train, how I sleep, and how I recharge. I’ve learned that if I keep pushing myself like I did in the past, I’ll pay the price, and it won’t be worth it.
I still train hard. But now, I listen. I listen to my body’s signals. I back off when I’m not ready for a heavy session. I used to call that weakness. Today, I call it wisdom.
We all need to invest time to feel strong, mobile, and resilient. And I truly believe that two or three hours a week — that’s all it takes — is something everyone can find time for. Not just for fitness, but for longevity. For freedom. For joy.
And above all, allow yourself to make mistakes. That’s how we grow. That’s how we learn. Strength isn’t just about muscle. It’s about patience and the courage to keep showing up, even when life is messy.
