Stress is not just in your head…and sometimes, we unknowingly make it worse by:

1. Pushing trough
We’ve been taught to ignore stress and push through and many of use (especially busy, high-achieving women) are very good at it. But stress accumulates and your body stores.

2. Trying to think your way out of stress.
Overthinking won’t calm your nervous system. Because stress lives in the body.

3. Ignoring the body
Tension in the neck, shallow breath, heaviness in your stomach, sleep issues. Your body gives you signals. Quiet at first but if you ignore it, it will shout.

➡️ Stress is a body experience, which means it needs a body-based response.

💡My quick tips:
Sit in a quiet place for 2-5 minutes.
Close your eyes.
Take a few deep breaths and gently connect to your body.
Open your bottle of favourite essential oil (calming ones could be orange, bergamot, geranium, lavender, roman chamomile, pine, cedar wood…)
Inhale slowly, exhale a bit longer.
Repeat for a couple of minutes
Let the beautiful fragrance and the plant’s wisdom gently enter your body and bring your nervous system back to calm.

There are many ways to support sleep, but from personal experience, I’ve found aromatherapy to be particularly effective.

Essential oils can support the nervous system gently, naturally but efficiently, without the grogginess often associated with sleeping pills.

I’ve been using hydrolats as part of a gentle spring detox for the past few years and I’m starting again now 🌿

💡 Why hydrolats and what are they?
Hydrolats are the aromatic waters collected during the distillation of essential oils.
They are softer (yet still potent) and can be used internally, making them a safe way to support the body on a daily basis.

I use them for many purposes but today I’m sharing four hydrolats that offer gentle, effective support for the liver, kidneys and lymphatic system.

I took the example of marjoram essential oil, which I mentioned in a post yesterday and how it has helped me tremendously with panic attacks. I think it’s super interesting to understand how and why too, right?

I’ve had panic attacks for 25 years.

I wanted to share my full journey in this post because I know this affects many people.

For a long time, I just learned to live with them but about 10 years ago, I discovered marjoram essential oil. It is not a miracle but for me it made a huge huge difference.

This is my experience and an oil that works for me might not work for you. But there are natural solutions that can support your nervous system very efficiently.

And that’s something I really want to share more of.

Star signs + essential oils = 🫶

I love astrology and aromatherapy and thought it would be fun to match an essential oil to each star sign. I matched them based on the elements, emotional properties, colour and intuition.

Of course, it’s just my opinion and you shouldn’t choose an essential oil just because of your star sign but it can be interesting to explore.

I’m back here after a few days off the grid.
I spent 2,5 days in a little bubble and needed a couple of extra time to integrate.

Initially I didn’t plan on sharing this here because I did it for my own personal growth, but it impacted me (positively) so much that I know it will also reflect in my work so I wanted to share a bit of this experience with you.

I spent the weekend at the Malmö Ta**ra Festival.

Ta**ra is often misunderstood and here is what it means to me (and I invite you to google it yourself too. I’m not an expert, just sharing my experience). Ta**ra is not about massage or s€x. It’s a path of awareness, presence, authenticity, intimacy, true connection to yourself and to others in every aspects of life.

It was my first ta**ra festival and it was so much more than I thought or expected. Beautiful encounters, a strong sense of community, vulnerability, stepping out of my comfort zone, meeting people on a different level (very authentically). There was some shadow work & inner exploration, getting rid of judgements towards myself or others, boundaries and consent, asking, giving, receiving, being seen.

Some of the workshops and facilitators inspired me and gave me a new perspective about holding space, connecting and transmitting and I will definitely apply that in my next sessions and workshops.

This weekend gave a lot of insights and felt like a little inner life changing experience. If I had to keep one word from this experience, it would be PRESENCE.

Side note: these kinds of experiences can also be challenging or triggering, depending on where you are in your journey. It’s not all light and softness. I personally felt very grounded going into it, but I think it’s important to mention.
