Why why I always give you the Latin name when I recommend an essential oil?
It really is not to sound scientific but it’s because in aromatherapy, precision is essential.
There are many “lavender”, “rosemary”, “eucalyptus”, “sage”…. In fact, many species of most plants.
The Latin name (and sometimes the chemotype) tells us the exact species which determines its chemistry, safety profile, contraindications and therapeutic action.
Two oils with the same common name can behave very differently in the body. Check the post for more details!
