Took our antique toy out to play the other day and realized that not all tints have UV as promised 😨

Received an sos request a month back minutes after stepping in for work. Did the check and made a few urgent calls to check if any public healthcare could accept a walk-in case as this lady was seeing wavy lines even with vision correction starting from days back.

Turned out to be a good call as she managed to get her eyes fully checked at the hospital hours later, with vitrectomy surgery fixed in a few days.

Saw this lady again days back, with her new complaints being glare from the sun post-op this round. Also the kind of complaints we will gladly take in such situations 😆 (because it also means that her vision has been restored)

As I’d always tell my customers, not all vision deterioration are from cataracts and cataracts would probably be one of the least cause of urgency for eye conditions. Do get your (or your elderly loved ones) eyes checked periodically especially in cases of sudden vision changes.

Also always a text away at Ohana because we aspire to leave no eyes behind ✌🏻

Surprise came couriered earlier- Thank you . Congratulations on the huge milestone and wishing many great decades ahead! 🥳

Got introduced to IRR by a dear friend pre-covid. Was impressed with the amount of time and effort pooled in by these volunteers to support this group of brothers. What started out as monthly funding of a few pairs of glasses quickly pivoted to other projects when covid hit.

Routines came to a big halt and 3-min-craziness project came into the picture. Poured over YouTube videos, started making masks for my guinea-pigs circles and later took this craziness to another level when deciding to put them on sale. Craziness then made sense when we were able to use parts of the proceeds on covid donation drives. Got involved in dormitory sample-runs during my old HW days and everything hits home because while we were getting lockdowned in the comfort of our homes / quarantine hotels, there were these huge groups of people far away from their loved ones, also quarantined but in much less-comfortable environments compared to ours.

Took the chance in 2024 to drop Lakshmi a text again when craziness round two came. Being the main decision maker at Ohana also meant I could continue to follow the heart in kaypohing causes I believed in 😄 Not kidding when I say there is much respect towards their high level of commitment, from free airport transfer services to their inspIRRe store providing workers with essential items to ease the burdens of cost of living. The hardwork of these volunteers truly know no boundaries. 🫡

Of cos, all these wouldn’t have been quite possible without the true Ohana fam behind Ohana Optics 🤭

Life is short. We are imperfect beings and far from saints. Choose happiness, be kind 😎
