Christmas festivities have also begun over at our 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲!

Putting a fun holiday twist to one of our usual centre activities, seniors got extra creative with designing their own candy cane treats, and even colour in a wintery scene with Santa Claus and a snowman! Where creativity has no limits, many of our seniors also did not limit themselves to the usual reds and whites associated with the Christmas holiday, instead opting for more unique and fun colours such as blues, yellows and oranges in their artworks. Here's to ringing in the final month of the year with a colourful bang!

The festive season has officially kicked off at our centre! 🎄✨🎅🏼

A few weeks back, our centre hosted a holiday-themed craft session for our members, in celebration of the upcoming Christmas holiday. Led by our Art & Craft instructor Iris, the session focused on teaching and spreading the creativity of making Christmas hats personalised to each member's preferences using easily accessible art and craft materials. Some of these works of art were also later used to decorate our centre for the upcoming holiday period too!

Thank you Iris for leading the fun crafty session, and we hope everyone had a jolly fun time! :)

Earlier this month, some of our members took the lead to host a unique, fun and engaging magic workshop for participating centre members! This was our centre’s first-ever magic workshop, where members had the opportunity to learn and practice exciting magic tricks shared by their peers. Everyone was fully immersed in having fun and eager to master the tricks, they were genuinely surprised and just a little bit disappointed when the session had to come to an end. Rest assured, our outreach team as well as the trainer members will do their best to bring more and longer sessions for everyone in the future. Stay tuned for updates and upcoming opportunities!

What's better than being crafty? Being crafty with friends!

As part of our Intergenerational (IG) Programme for seniors at our 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲, our centre regularly welcomes young students to partake in various types of activities together with our seniors. These include craft activities like cotton bud painting and beaded bracelet making, which focuses on motor skills and engage in the creativity of both the young and young at heart. 🎨✨🧵

A few weeks back, our centre played host to a joint activity session with members from Methodist Welfare Services (MWS)' active ageing centre!

Along with our centre's very own AAC members and volunteers, attendees participated in a game or two of the always-popular Bingo, followed by some yummy lunch together. Of course, winners of our Bingo games did not go home empty-handed. We hope everyone enjoyed their time at our centre nevertheless, and thank you to everyone from MWS for coming by! :)

🪔🌟 Thank you to everyone who joined our recent Deepavali celebration at Active Global @ Fernvale Glades! From the bingo session to freestyle clay lamp painting, we hope everyone had fun taking part in the activities, enjoyed the yummy Indian lunch buffet too!

Special thanks to the Joyous volunteer group for the Indian Dance performance, and a big shoutout to all our volunteers for helping to make this celebration a successful one. Thank you everyone! ☺️

Once every two months, our Senior Care Centre opens its doors to welcome a team of Vietnamese hairdressers! As part of their efforts to give back to the community, these ladies have been regularly paying a visit to our centre and seniors and providing them a free haircut. It may not be anything fancy, but their kind service is definitely something our seniors appreciate and look forward to each time. A big thank you to these lovely ladies for helping our seniors look good!

Mid-autumn festival came early for our Active Ageing Centre as our September 25 La Kopi session was turned into a celebration for the festive occasion! 🌕🥮🎑

Thank you everyone who helped make this session a super fun one, from decorating our space with cute and impressive mid-autumn themed decorations to even having our very own Chang'E (嫦娥) or Chinese moon goddess to celebrate and have fun with all of us!
