Attention sofa sleepers!

Have you ever wondered why your neck gets really stiff after sleeping on the sofa for some time? This is due to your awkward sleeping posture! The side arms of the sofa acts as a high pillow on your neck and it is over elevated and extended for some time. This restricts the blood and nerve flow on your neck, shoulder and head and leading to tight and stiff neck muscles and joints.

Often this results in a torticollis condition whereby you are not able to turn your neck in the morning.

Choosing a correct pillow as well as the right position for your neck is important for fully charged and refreshing sleep. But if you are struggling to find a comfortable position to sleep on your pillow might be due to your neck misalignments, not enabling you to relax completely when your neck is rested on your pillow.

Stress=tensed 😅🤔

Check your shoulder tightness by placing your hands on your shoulders and feel for tension.

When we are mentally stressed and the body turns on sympathetic mode. The overall respiratory, digestive and muscular function tenses up as we forget to breathe, relax and move. Our body locks up the overall body system and prepares for flight and fight mode.

Chiropractor reacts to cats!

Is your knee hurting?

Weakest joint in the body? 🦵

Our knee is one of the weakest joints in the body that is restricted on side to side motion like our hips. When our body is off-balanced from previous ankle sprains or back injuries, your knees will get affected as it will bear more pressure and weight on one side of the knee.

Knee is a hinge joint like a door that mainly allows flexion and extension (bending and straightening) of legs with minimum amount of rotation.

Therefore, a good exercise position is crucial especially when you are doing weight lifting exercises. This helps to prevent new injuries from lifting and putting pressure on knees.
