I once saw my ex-colleague scrolling through Instagram while pretending to film a client, f**k me.

Referring to post and i quote ‘why the industry is royally f**ked’, one thing for sure about being in my role is that my clients deserve to be treated and respected well, and that means:
1. Delivering as much value as I can so that they can progress in and out of the gym.
2. Sharing as much as i know while saying “I don’t know but I’ll get back on that” on a topic I am not well versed in.
3. Guiding and finding solutions to work around their problems.

Can we start writing programs, being on time for client’s sessions while not scrolling through Instagram, isn’t that the least we can do?

Through my last few years of coaching, I’ve slipped up and learned from my mistakes, figuring out how i can best improve to serve my clients.

For some, it is a part time gig.

For me, it’s about creating a legacy and making an impact on someone because i love what i do.

No cookie cutter programs, just taking out the guesswork and assist the people i work with live to become the best possible version of themselves.

If you’re interested in working with me, link in bio or drop me a DM to get started.

Something to consider when it comes to health and fitness, you can’t just look at one aspect and generalise everything.

Consider all factors and improve them, compounding effect does wonders.

Bulgarians or rear foot elevated split squat - whatever you wanna call it. Constantly butchered and from what I’m judging, wrongly set up a fair bit for people who don’t have the range to begin with.

Having the typical high set up of placing it on a bench is really not necessary for most, a small elevation with a platform/plate should do the trick to address things like mobility and stability.

Moving from point A to B is cool, but helping my clients to understand positions to facilitate the movements and what the exercise can provide for you BEST is what I do on the gym floor. Individualised set up before Intensity to always keep things safe and build confidence.

Note how much more hip flexion I’m getting and also not sitting ‘back’ in to my right knee with the different set up? That’s probably a lot more ideal given the inability to remove the back quad out of the equation.

Have centre of mass over front foot > keep it forward as you descend > pause and suffer!

Swipe for other exercises that allow you to bias the hips that allows you to push intensity and fail safely💪🏽

Guess it’s time for me to start putting up reviews so here it goes - working with Shawn has been a huge blessing, he has allowed me to grow in many stages of my career and also provided me with many problems to solve in this journey.

Left VS Right:
Bodyweight: 80kg ↘️74.9kg
Body fat %: 16.7% ↘️12.1%

It’s cut and dry, everything is binary. You either do it or you don’t.

Some of his big lifts numbers below and also getting down to 12% BF were the milestones for him in 2024:
135kg Trap Bar DL
28kg DB Bench Press
15kg Weighted Pull-ups
95kg Back Squats

The ‘problem’ with this whole fitness and health thing is instant gratification, but you just have to put the work in, and Shawn is an exemplar of that with his consistent hardwork.

One of those with new resolutions and need some accountability? Let’s work something out!🤝🏽

I’d like to think that I’m making a positive impact on someone in some way or another and that’s pretty much the best part about what I’m doing.

Bottom line is everyone wants some sort of progress in their desired direction and I’m just a guide.

Here’s my client who brought her parents in for a session and giving me a nice little update on where she’s at after seeing the doctor this week after 1.5 years working together🤝

Strength training.
Cardio training.
Hybrid training.

Whatever mode of training it is, it should depend entirely on what you want and need. Everyone can preach about their “superior” way of training, but here’s the truth:
• If you want to get stronger, isn’t strength training the clear choice?
• If you don’t want to struggle climbing a flight of stairs, doesn’t cardio make more sense?
• If you want to excel at both strength and endurance, hybrid training is where it’s at.

You can try to do it all, but if it feels like a chore, it won’t stick. And when life is already packed with responsibilities—family, work, and more—what matters most is not the “perfect” plan, but finding a system that works for you and your lifestyle.

I take pride in helping people cut through the noise and create a plan that feels good, fits their goals, and becomes a sustainable part of their lives.

Beyond just improving physical health, I focus on aligning your training with your mindset, behaviors, and preferences—because lasting results come from consistency, not just “optimal” programs on paper.

Let’s build your path to long term success TOGETHER!
