Gifts of Christmas
Christmas has a way of slowing me down — and this year, I really needed that pause.
As I look back, one gift I’m especially grateful: for completing my journey as a Diplomate in Lifestyle Medicine (DipIBLM). It’s more than a credential -- as certified as a Lifestyle Medicine Professional. It simply affirms something I’ve believed and practised for years as a dietitian — that real healing happens when nutrition, lifestyle, and care come together in a very human way.
I’m thankful for the people who walked this journey with me — my study mates Dr. Shrimathi Swaminsthan, Dr. Kim Ah-Moye, Dr. Anthony Chao, Dr. Tan Cheng Rong and in particular, Prof. Lee Eng Sing, And the encouragement from Dr Eva Leina Yusoof, Dr Miina Ohman, Dr. Hussain-Morgan, Tan Chew Sia and Prof. Ng Lee Beng. Their support mattered more than they probably realised.
Looking ahead, I feel clearer and more settled about the work I want to do. In the coming years, I hope to give more of myself through my work — translating science into care that people can actually live with, not feel overwhelmed by.
For a long time, I searched for the “right” Christmas gift.
This year, I realised it was never something to unwrap.
The Gift of Christmas — Life.
Wishing you a Christmas filled with meaning, rest, and quiet joy.
