How do performing artists build mental resilience while navigating the pressures of their craft?
Last night at Arts Resource Hub, we explored this question with three experts who shared honest, practical insights on mental health in the performing arts.
Moderated by Dr Mandy Zhang from SSMC@Novena, our speakers - Dr Sanjiv Nair (Consultant Psychiatrist, CGH), Mr Sudev S/O Suthendran (Clinical Psychologist, CGH), and arts therapist Ms Ambre Lee - opened up about recognizing stress, developing healthy coping strategies, and finding balance between creativity and well-being.
Whether you're a dancer managing performance anxiety, a musician dealing with creative blocks, or an arts educator supporting your students, the conversation reminded us that taking care of our mental health isn't a luxury - it's essential to sustaining our practice.
Thank you to everyone who showed up and shared in this important conversation. Your questions and openness made the evening truly meaningful.
