Set within the energy of Chinese New Year 2026, the Year of the Fire Horse, this Yin practice responds to a cycle marked by strong Yang Fire. The Horse carries natural Fire within the zodiac, creating a year known for momentum, intensity, and forward drive. When left unchecked, this heat can gather in the heart, shoulders, and upper spine, showing up as restlessness or emotional fatigue.

This 2-hour Yin class offers a counterpoint to that pace. The practice centres on the heart meridian, chest, shoulders, and upper back — areas closely linked to Fire energy and emotional expression. Long-held, supported shapes invite the body to slow down, allowing warmth to be held with care rather than urgency.

Fire is explored as feeling, openness, and inner brightness. Beneath it sits the quiet influence of Water, reflected in traditional systems that describe an underlying current of fluid wisdom within the Fire Horse year. Through stillness, breath, and time, the practice encourages steadiness, grounding, and a sense of internal safety 🌊.

Attention remains on listening rather than effort, giving the nervous system space to settle and recalibrate. The rhythm stays calm and deliberate, offering a way to meet strong energy without being carried away by it.

This class creates room to stay open without overreaching, to hold intensity with gentleness, and to experience support as something received rather than pursued 🤍

Step into the new year with a steady, mindful rhythm. This practice of 108 Sun Salutations invites a gentle reset — a chance to clear space, reconnect with yourself, and move with intention. 🌞🧘‍♀️

The number 108 carries long-held meaning across many traditions, often linked to unity and a sense of wholeness. It offers a grounding framework as you move, breathe, and set the tone for the months ahead.

In this session, Cassie will guide the room through a paced flow where everyone moves at their own rhythm. Take pauses when you need them, settle into your breath, and let each round become a moment of presence. It’s not about completing all 108 — it’s about meeting yourself where you are, one salute at a time. 🤍

For those who wish to stay on after practice, there’ll be a short optional journalling segment.

Bring a notebook or simply use your phone — anything that helps you capture your thoughts for the year ahead. ✍️✨
