Crying in therapy isn’t “weak.” It’s your nervous system feeling safe enough to stop holding everything in.

Clinically, tears can mean: regulation (body downshifts), contact with real emotion, and a strong therapeutic alliance. You won’t be pushed or judged - we pace, ground, and come back when you’re ready.

If you’re scared to start, tell your therapist this fear first and plan after-care (water, short walk, quiet time).

Strength isn’t not crying. Strength is letting emotions be witnessed so they can move.

Depression gets misunderstood a lot. Among younger people it can be “romanticized,” while many adults and older folks dismiss it as just a bad mood.

Feeling sad for a while isn’t the same as clinical depression.

Real depression is a serious condition. It can make everyday tasks hard, derail studies or work, and strain communication, family life, and close relationships. It doesn’t only affect feelings - your body can feel it too (sleep, energy, appetite, aches).
