Goodbye the.osteo.chef, hello the.osteo.dad

For the past 2 years, I have been so blessed to be able to spend time with this little smiley pie & to witness her amazing growth.

As such, my time spent in the kitchen has reduced dramatically. Whilst I still hold a deep passion and love in cooking, my current priorities are now to spend quality time with my dear family, and at the same time continuing to hone my skills as an osteopath.

Therefore, for now, I shall take up the mantle of. . . . !!!!!the.osteo.dad !!!!! (prompt superpower music) ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Probably the most special birthday of my life to date (Our birthdays are only 6 days apart).

No cake or champagne can replace the great joy I've received from holding this lovely gift from God (just that she's a tad floppy now ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…)

So here's a post to commemorate the start of parenthood. And to remind myself in the future, as we look back, how blessed and happy we are throughout our journey in life.

Slow roasted tomahawk steak with carrots, potatoes and onions dressed with reduced red wine sauce. Reminds me of some lovely cuts of char siew!

Salmon kabayaki don with braised radish. A great cousin of the infamous unagi don. Another quick & easy weekday dinner idea. The key to this dish is the simple yet flavoursome sauce delivering that umami punch.โฃ

๐Ÿ. ๐’๐š๐ฅ๐ฆ๐จ๐งโฃ
- Season your salmon fillet / belly with a touch of salt & pepperโฃ
- Coat them evenly with a tablespoon of cornstarchโฃ
- Heat up a medium heat pan and start grilling the salmon until golden brown.โฃ

๐Ÿ. ๐’๐š๐ฎ๐œ๐žโฃ
Add the following into your pan:โฃ
- 1 tablespoon of sakeโฃ
- 2 tablespoons of mirinโฃ
- 1 tablespoon of sugarโฃ
- 2 tablespoons of soya sauceโฃ
Let it reduce for a minute over medium low heat and then put your salmon back into the pan to coat them evenly with the sauce.โฃ

Cut thick slices of white radish and slowly braised them in a mixture of:โฃ
3 tablespoons of soya sauceโฃ
1 tablespoon of sugarโฃ
โฃ
Serve up your yummy salmon and braised radish onto your bowl of rice (I used brown rice as I ran out of Japanese rice) & garnish it with some crispy seaweed to add a layer of texture & flavour.โฃ
