Here’s my story behind Cake Botanica:

I started Cake Botanica with the aim of sharing RAW (i.e no bake) whole-plant desserts and treats that anyone can enjoy and that are free from allergens or intolerable ingredients such as dairy, eggs, wheat, refined flours and sugars. My philosophy is to eat real whole foods in their natural state, as much as possible, optimally retaining inherent nutrients. This means no processed and manufactured ingredients such as refined flours, sugars and highly adulterated ingredients. My cakes are therefore crafted exclusively from real whole fruits, vegetables nuts and seeds where we benefit from the inherent nutrition they offer. No processed or manufactured ingredients. 100% natural. Since early adulthood, I struggled with increasing symptoms akin to gastritis, indigestion and reflux. I consulted doctors, specialists and gastroenterologists but none have explained nor resolved my symptoms. In 2009, with the help of a nutritionist specialising in gut micro biome health, I overhauled my dietary philosophy, detoxed my gut and ate predominantly whole foods (food in their original natural state, not at all or minimally processed) ditching table sugar (in fact any added sugar) and reading labels of any prepared foods. It was then that I was inducted into the world of raw, whole foods and cleaner eating. I also underwent a series of tests that revealed key imbalances and inflammation in my gut which co-related with my intolerance then for dairy and cane-sugar (refined table sugar). Over 10 years, I have grown in my experience and knowledge in preparing and consuming whole-foods (as much as possible, raw), and that are minimally adulterated. Now I no longer suffer the symptoms I used to. A non-inflammed and balanced micro biome (along with an active lifestyle) helps with an overall sense of well-being. Today’s custom creation was made for a sweet 1-year-old boy — a fully nut-free, 100% natural, fruit-powered ocean cake lovingly designed for his first birthday. 💙🐠⭐

Mom gave me full freedom to choose the fruits, and every colour you see comes strictly from nature — no colouring, no additives, no artificial anything. Just pure, whole ingredients transformed into an ocean world.

🍋 Bottom Tier:
A sunny tropical blend — predominantly mango, with bananas, passion fruit & GF oats, lightly sweetened with pure maple syrup.

🍏 Top Tier:
A bright, refreshing kiwi-forward layer with avocado & bananas…
and a little secret — fresh spinach for that vivid sea-green pop. 🌿🌊

🐠 The Details:
All piped fish, waves and starfish were crafted from the same real-food recipes — with the starfish made purely from raspberry + GF oats.
