Anxiety, Anger and Depression has a cost. And the greatest cost could be the life a child. Many parents are initially unware of their child is depressed until the situation escalates to self harm, falling grades, skipping school, anorexia or bullimia. Su***de is an extreme situation. Working with children, they sometimes share their su***de attempts. Sitting on a balcony rail in a daze. 5 minutes earlier they contemplated ending their life. But decided against it. But sitting a ledge in a daze, can accidentally result in a fall and death. So it is important to the right help if you child ever mentions of ending things. The good news is that it is possible to turn things around. With the right therapy, once the depression is lifted, the suicidal thoughts can go away and the child can be safe.

A personalised approach delivers better results. Every client is unique in their goals and challanges. Although we don't have 100% success rate, many of our clients succeed and happy to share their expereince. Stress and anxiety affect our work. And when we leave our job because of stress and anxiety, it's now affecting our life. Here is Jun Jie, a working professional who shares how he learned how to reduce his anxiety and regulate his stress levels in just 5 sessions.

"Have been struggling with Anxiety issues when i left my previous job. Believing it to be burnout coupled with Covid times, i didn't think much into the underlying issues and life carries on. Fast forward to 4 months into the new job, the existing anxiety issues resurfaced and i felt there was a need to seek professional help. Even though i was skeptical after reading the good reviews on Google, i tried to believe Chris when we spoke through the tele consultation.

It was a tailored programme where Chris would take into consideration the current issues that i am facing and setting the goals what we would like to achieve at the end of the programme.

As we live life. Stuff happens. And those memories sometimes keeps looping in our minds, affecting our lives. At some point we are now ready to unpack the things that used to bother us. Here is Weil Ling, sharing how she overcame years of anxiety in just 5 sessions and how she finally feels free from the past.

"One of the best things I've done for myself this year is taking that leap of faith to reach out for support and thankfully finding Chris in that process.

At the start, Chris explained the structure of the program and how we will progress over the 5 sessions. He would also ask what you would like to achieve from the program, as this will help guide the conversation and thus help you reach your goals.

It was a tough time when I started, being wrought with all that anxiety, worry and negativity that had accumulated over years. Over the sessions, we unpacked some incidents that had deeply impacted me in the past. The conversations guided me to reframe some of my perspectives to something more helpful. I had benefited from the emotional catharsis even from just the 1st session - the panic attacks just stopped.

To others feeling stuck in their situation and unsure if this could help them - I would say to keep an open mind and trust the process, as it would definitely lead you to a good start on the journey of feeling better. Working through certain emotional knots we may not even have been aware of in our subconscious can be so liberating.

In our pursuit of success we can sometimes feel overwhelmed and burned out, leaving us feeling unmotivated and tired. Here is Xueli, sharing how she overcame burnout and depression and feels better and confident after just 5 sessions of therapy.

" I was feeling the effects of burnout on top of being depressed after holding on to years of anger and resentment. During my sessions with Chris, there was a lot of digging into my childhood and reframing my perspective on it. It was uncomfortable, sometimes brutal. But by the third session or so, I realised that it actually worked because I was beginning to let go of the things that hurt me years ago. I had a hopeful perspective on life again, even though just a month ago I was considering ending it.

Sounds really dramatic but I promise you it wasn't some "omg wow my life has changed" moment, simply "ok maybe i really can get through this". Since finishing the sessions, I've gotten back to work (baby steps), replied to the friends that I've ignored the past few months, and continue to have feelings of hopefulness and calm. Therapy isn't an end-all to poor mental health, hence I agree with the 5 session approach. Now it's up to me to utilise the tips that Chris has provided me with.

I would encourage you (whoever is reading is) to consult Chris with an open mind. The first consultation should help with deciding whether you want to work with him as well. Chris has a good sense of humour and will provide you with tissues if you ask."

Luck or fortune, sometimes favours the bold. It takes some courage to reach out for help. But those that do, and for those that select the right counselor, they sand a good chance to succeed. Here is Derrick sharing his success story.

Prevent anxiety and depression through counselling? Yes! It makes perfect sense. Prevention is better than finding a cure.
