Cancer care is rarely a single choice. It’s a series of personal decisions that affect your body, your loved ones, your work and your peace of mind. “How will this change things?” and “How do we get ready?” aren’t only about care — they’re about life.

Healing doesn’t begin or end at the hospital doors. It starts in the weeks of preparation before admission and continues through the steady work of recovery after you return home.

These in-between stages are often when stress peaks, especially if you’re unsure what your insurance covers.

When you have the clarity of knowing you are supported from the first scan to the final check in, you can stop second guessing every appointment and start focusing on your recovery.

Swipe ➡️ to see how each stage of your care is typically covered.

Two seasons, one celebration. 🌙🧧

On Ren Ri (人日), the 7th day of the Lunar New Year and known as the birthday of humankind, our newly revamped Grand Lobby at Mount Elizabeth Hospital was filled with sunshine, drums and joy.

The lions surprised us this year, grooving to 𝘙𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘥𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘛𝘪𝘣𝘢 before breaking into the traditional dance, marking the start of Ramadan alongside the Lunar New Year festivities.

The dragon followed, weaving through the crowd with our senior management and prominent doctors leading the charge, just as they have in years past.

We rounded off the afternoon with 30 spirited rounds of yu sheng, as staff, specialists and partners tossed high wishes for health and togetherness with our community.

Our first New Year celebration in the refreshed Grand Lobby after Project Renaissance felt extra special, bathed in natural light from the new skylight atrium and shared across cultures, faiths and friendships.

Here’s to caring for one another, in every season. ❤️

Living with two serious heart conditions, Madam Linda Sanjaya found everyday life limited by breathlessness and fatigue.

She needed a solution that was as sophisticated as her condition was complex, but one that wouldn’t keep her from being there for her family, especially her daughter’s wedding.

Under the care of cardiothoracic surgeon Professor Theodoros Kofidis, she underwent a rare double minimally invasive cardiac surgery (MICS) to treat both conditions in a single operation, without the need for conventional open‑heart surgery. This gentler approach avoids large incisions through the chest bone, reducing surgical trauma and easing her recovery.

With ongoing support from cardiologist Dr Lim Tai Tian and the heart team, her symptoms have improved, and she is steadily regaining strength for her daughter’s big day.

Consult with our cardiothoracic team today to explore advanced heart surgery options.

Lunar New Year became a beautiful moment of cultural immersion at Mount Elizabeth Hospital.

Our team and a cheerful pineapple made the rounds, surprising patients with red bucket bags of mandarin oranges and chocolate-filled gold ingots to welcome good fortune in the Year of the Horse 🍊🍊

The festivities continued at bedside with calligraphy, where patients focused intently on every stroke, crafting hand-painted blessings that became cherished keepsakes of hope for the year ahead.

Gong Xi Fa Cai! Wishing you a year brimming with health and boundless blessings. 🍍💛

Back pain that won’t go away? Here’s what you should know.

One possible cause is 𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗮𝗿 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘆𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘀 — age-related wear and tear of the lower spine. Over time, discs can thin, joints may stiffen, and bone spurs can form as the body tries to stabilise the area.

These changes may irritate or compress nearby nerves, leading to symptoms like sciatica — pain that radiates down the leg.

In this post, we share the signs to look out for, and when seeing a neurosurgeon* may help you take the next step towards recovery.

With 3 Nipah virus cases reported overseas and the rise in measles cases in Singapore, it’s a timely reminder of the role vaccines play in disease prevention — and the importance of vigilance and preparedness when vaccines aren’t available.

In this fact sheet, we highlight key diseases that already have approved vaccines, alongside those that don’t. Which ones were you already familiar with?

If you’re unsure which vaccinations may be relevant for you — especially if you’re travelling soon — speaking to a doctor can provide clarity.

Our nurses are often the first voices patients hear and the last hands they hold before returning home healthier.

Beyond their undeniable skill, their care stays with families for generations. They are the calm for a restless child and the reassurance for an anxious grandparent. In every moment, they embody steady, compassionate care.

In their hands, and with your trust,
