It’s the most wonderful time of the year indeed!

As we welcome the festive season, our residents, staff and next-of-kin (NOKs) came together to decorate this year’s Christmas tree, which was generously donated by one of our NOKs. It was a simple yet meaningful moment of togetherness at the Lodge.

To keep the celebrations going, we have a line-up of volunteer-led activities in the upcoming weeks, including carolling, bingo sessions and festive craft-making. These engagements go beyond festive celebration. They foster connection, self-expression and a sense of belonging among our residents.

A big thank you to our donors, volunteers and partners for making this possible. Your support helps us bring joy, dignity and meaningful engagements to persons living with dementia.

Here’s to a year-end filled with joy, laughter and togetherness.

On 20 September 2025, the Lodge was filled with laughter, music, and meaningful moments as we welcomed families, partners, donors, Management Committee members, and friends to celebrate and reaffirm our commitment to support and advocate for those living with dementia.

Our theme this year, “Inclusivity: Our Journey Together”, reminded us that no one walks this path alone. Guests enjoyed heartwarming performances by our residents, who proudly showcased their talents, and joined in the fun with a dementia trivia quiz. Families beamed as they cheered on their loved ones, while guests learnt about our different models of care through signature activities such as Melody of Touch and Nostalgic Sips, where residents demonstrated their culinary flair making traditional Soon Kueh.

Thank you to everyone who made this day meaningful. Your presence and support remind us that when we walk together, we create a community where every person with dementia is seen, heard, and valued.

At Apex Harmony Lodge, our transformational journey in cultivating a nurturing community and space through environmental transformation continues. This reflects our growing commitment each year to transform the Lodge into a resort for persons with dementia (PWDs), characterised by a Living Art Gallery and a Garden that Inspires.

Rooted in dementia-friendly design principles and salutogenesis, these transformative spaces create an environment that fosters wellness living.

We are excited to announce the official launch of the Singapore Environmental Assessment Tool (SEAT) Guidebook, a collaborative initiative between the Agency for Integrated Care (AIC), Apex Harmony Lodge (AHL), and Environmental Gerontologist Dr Joanna Sun. The SEAT provides a systematic framework for reviewing environments for persons living with dementia and identifying areas for improvement within aged care facilities in Singapore.

We hope that this guidebook will serve as a source of inspiration to create Dementia-Friendly environments where PWDs feel included, empowered and supported.

In celebration of our silver jubilee, Apex Harmony Lodge (AHL) hosted a public webinar on 16 October 2024, titled Empowering Persons with Dementia to Live Well.

During the webinar, the community care team shared insights into AHL’s innovative approaches, including the Humanitude care philosophy and mindfulness initiatives, both of which have been integral in enhancing the well-being and quality of life of our residents. These practices reflect AHL’s ongoing mission to empower persons with dementia to live meaningful and dignified lives.
