Dr Wong Seng Weng was recently featured in Shin Min Daily News where he shared insights on the progress made in colorectal cancer care.โ€‹

Colorectal cancer outcomes are improving as medical care continues to advance.โ€‹

Three important developments in colorectal cancer care are mentioned: survival rates are improving, treatments are becoming more personalised through targeted and immune therapies, and early screening remains critical in detecting the disease earlier and improving outcomes.โ€‹

These advancements reflect how far cancer care has come and why regular screening and awareness remain essential for protecting long term health. ๐Ÿฉบโœจโ€‹

Is cancer something youโ€™re born with, or something that develops over time?โ€‹

In The Straits Times, Dr Wong Seng Weng, Medical Director at The Cancer Centre, shares that cancer is largely an acquired condition, shaped by genetic changes that build up over the years. While some people may inherit a higher risk, most cancers develop due to ageing, environmental exposure, and lifestyle factors.โ€‹

This is why prevention, regular screening, and early detection still matter.โ€‹
