Is cancer something you’re born with, or something that develops over time?
In The Straits Times, Dr Wong Seng Weng, Medical Director at The Cancer Centre, shares that cancer is largely an acquired condition, shaped by genetic changes that build up over the years. While some people may inherit a higher risk, most cancers develop due to ageing, environmental exposure, and lifestyle factors.
