Genome Informatics (NGS Analysis) Part 1 Workshop is Now Open for Registrations!

This is a two-part workshop. In Part 1, you will gain a solid understanding of the NGS technology, workflows and different bioinformatic tools and algorithms to handle and analyse sequencing data. The workshop will span a period of 8 weeks, with a total of 32 online learning hours on weekends (4hrs x 8 Saturdays) with the instructor, plus self learning hours on weekdays (at your discretion), to make yourself comfortable in NGS analytical skills, as well as start solving problems using them.

Dr Hari completed his PhD in the area of Bioinformatics from University of Malaya. For his dissertation, he worked on the genome sequencing of the first Malayan pangolin using Next Generation Sequencing technology. While currently he works as a data scientist analyzing industrial data from sensors, he has always remained passionate about omics and its revolutionary applications. In his previous role as an academic, he delivered lectures and workshops on Genomics and Transcriptomics locally and within the region, i.e. Indonesia.

His primary work focuses on providing clinicians with the capacity to explore polymorphisms in the human genome and their phenotypic effects. Additionally, he also explores the area of structural phylogenetics and quantum computing. He is also a science communication enthusiast and loves to engage with incoming researchers on potential new computational methodologies that can be employed to enhance the quality of research. He is also an instructor with Software Carpentry and routinely conducts scientific computing workshops in different countries.

He has also created many tutorials in the R programming language for Machine Learning, Genomic Analysis, Data visualization and Statistical Modelling Technique with thousands of views on many videos. During his free time, he also helps scholars around the world in their analysis and the implementation of machine learning into their research. He has recently published a paper as a co-author of the article in the Nature Publishing Group (Scientific Report) and is working on other projects.
