✨ How are you, really? ✨
October invites us to pause, slow down, and check in with ourselves. With World Mental Health Day on October 10, it’s the perfect reminder that mental health isn’t a luxury—it’s everyday health. 💚

We often get caught up in productivity and performance, forgetting to ask the simple yet profound question: How am I, really?

Your mental health matters. Some days feel steady, others heavy—that’s normal. But if the tough days start to outweigh the better ones, it may be time to reach out, reflect, and receive support. 🌱

Remember: therapy isn’t a last resort—it’s a powerful resource. 🕊️
Self-care isn’t selfish—it’s essential. 💫

If you need a safe, non-judgmental space to talk, we are here for you.

Trauma can leave lasting imprints on both the mind and body, affecting how we think, feel, and respond to the world around us. 🌀

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a structured, evidence-based therapy that helps the brain reprocess traumatic memories. By activating the brain’s natural healing processes, EMDR reduces the emotional charge of past events, allowing you to move forward with greater resilience and peace.

At Counseling Perspective, we offer EMDR as part of our trauma-informed care to support individuals on their journey of recovery and growth. 💙

If you’ve been carrying the weight of past experiences, know that healing is possible. Reach out to explore how EMDR can help.”

What we experience as children doesn’t just stay in the past — it shapes the way we see ourselves, love, trust, and connect throughout life. 🌱 Many of the struggles we face as adults can be traced back to wounds we carried from our earliest years.

The good news: healing is possible. Whether through therapy, Family Constellation, or other supportive practices, you can begin to release the weight of the past and create new pathways forward. 💫

If you’re ready to shift old patterns and nurture your inner child, reach out — you don’t have to walk this journey alone. ❤️

🎤 “Even stars struggle.” – JJ Lin on Mental Health

Singapore’s own JJ Lin has spoken about pressure in the music industry and the importance of self-care.

🔹 His advice:
✔️ “Take breaks—it’s not quitting.”
✔️ “Talk to someone, even if it’s awkward.”

No scary "therapy" label. Just vent to someone who won't tell your parents.

If you’re sighing at this, 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗺𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗯𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗿𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝗮𝗴𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲. Let’s unpack it:

🔥 𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗻𝘀 𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗬𝗼𝘂
✔️ "My parents’ dreams = my report card" (Medicine or failure?)
✔️ Guilt trips ("After all we sacrificed…")
✔️ Walking on eggshells (One B+ = silent treatment)
✔️ Living their regrets ("I never got to… so YOU must")
✔️ Love feels conditional ("Only proud when I win")

1. Name what you feel.
When you name it, you tame it. Journaling or speaking to a safe person helps regulate overwhelming emotions

2. Separate expectations from identity
Take a few deep breaths. Reconnecting with your own truth is the first step to building authentic confidence

3. Create boundaries with compassion
You are allowed to say no or not now. Setting gentle limits doesn’t mean rejecting your parents. It means respecting your own limits too.

4. Come back to the body
Through breathwork, movement and stillness, we support the nervous system.

5. Reach out before you burn out
Struggling in silence is too heavy. Talk to someone. A friend, theraoist or a coach. Vulnerability isn’t weakness. It’s your greatest strength
