Many patients ask whether Ultherapy PRIME or Microneedling RF can cause facial fat loss, but neither treatment is designed to melt or remove fat. Ultherapy PRIME uses focused ultrasound to lift and tighten deeper structural layers of the skin, while Microneedling RF uses radiofrequency and microneedling to improve skin texture, firmness, and collagen production. When performed correctly by an experienced doctor in proper depth, the treatments should not reduce facial fat. However, in very lean faces, tightening treatments may accentuate hollowness, not because fat was dissolved, but because the skin contracts.

Unknown to us, Freia Medical had our fair share of a milestone #2016 and it was a beautiful walk down memory lane for us! Recapping just a few:
1. It was the year we officially celebrated 10 years of serving our patients - since Dr Harold Ma founded Freia in 2006.
2. We doubled in staff strength within a year.
3. Dr Ma attended and presented at many conferences locally and overseas
4. We had a revamp of our uniforms demarcating our Freia Medical and Freia Aesthetics teams.
5. New machines, new technologies in the aesthetics and hair space.

Back then, these were amazing milestones, signifying growth, leadership, professional and dedication to our patients. At the core of Freia’s DNA is an innate desire to remain boutique (in the way we treat and care for patients) whilst growing. And the end of 2016 marked the start of our search for our next doctor as aesthetic / hair appointments took a surge. Freia does not expand for reasons of vanity but when there is a genuine calling to better the quality of care for our patients. We are glad that this mantra that had guided us then would guide us ahead into the next decade and many more 🙂
