Main Committee Handover
It’s time to say goodbye to our outgoing AY21/22 main committee.
At the start, we sown the seeds of our wishes: To create a supportive environment for our service users to build friendships, experiences and pick up independent living skills.
When the committee inherited RSPID, it was the peak of the pandemic. E-sessions were the norm and there seemed to be no way out of it. We enjoyed volunteering virtually through Zoom for reasons such as (1) being able to see trainees from CTDC and WGS in one room (2) technology enabling creative methods of education. But we still craved that physical interaction. And so our committee thought of various ways just so we could express our love in person: delivering festive goodies to the doorstep of trainees, BYTO when the regulations allowed for it, and HV when it was safe to do so.
Today, physical sessions are back in full blast. We continue to see our trainees smile – finally it’s tangible. In the months prior, we were caught in a mess. Waves after waves of changes. But instead of being swept away by the unpredictable current, we kept afloat. Our strong leadership pulled us through, with added strength from our teamwork, and crucially our dedication towards our trainees and our dear friend who always inspired us and taught us positivity.
Have we reaped the fruits of our labour? We don’t know. The journey with our trainees never ends, but it’s time to watch the seeds grow with the upcoming committee. All the best!

RSPID Volunteer Appreciation Dinner (VAD)
RSPID celebrated our annual VAD. This VAD is a momentous occasion for us, having our first physical dinner since the pandemic two years ago. The physical dinner allowed volunteers, old and new, and caregivers alike to take a much-needed break and catch up through casual conversations and reminisce about the events that have occurred over the past year. We hope you enjoyed the games and photo booth planned for all of you!
Special thanks to the University Advancement Office of Nanyang Technological University, Singapore for sponsoring the dinner and making the night possible. Without you, the event would not have been possible.

RSPID Convocation 🎓🎓
Today, we commemorate the graduation of 37 of our seniors. Thanks for putting your time and effort into RSPID during your time at NTU. Despite your busy schedules, many of you continue to volunteer with us after graduation, a strong testament to the bonds you made with your trainees. We understand that some of you could not make it to your physical convocation, but we thank you for all your contributions. All the best in your future endeavours. RSPID will always be a home for you whenever you guys are free to come back 👍
