We’re growing, and we’re so happy to welcome Samantha, our new full-time physiotherapist at Nimble Paws 💙

Samantha is a licensed human physiotherapist (BSc Physiotherapy, University of South Australia) with over seven years of experience specialising in neurological and amputee rehabilitation.

Her background in these complex areas deepens how we understand and rebuild movement across every stage of recovery. Like us, she believes movement is never optional — and that empowering owners with understanding is just as important as hands-on care.

With Samantha on board, we continue to strengthen our vision of a physiotherapist-led clinic, one that raises the standard of animal rehabilitation through structure, science, and purpose.

We can’t wait for you to meet her (and her Jindo, Mungoh!) 🐾

The NIMBLE™️ Assessment isn’t just about identifying pain —
it’s about understanding every part of the recovery journey.

🐕 For the pets, it means care that targets the real issue.
👩🏻‍⚕️ For the physios, it means structure and precision in every plan.
👩🏻 For the owners, it means clarity and confidence in every step.

That’s why it matters.
Structure. Clarity. Progress.

Why We Tape?

Ever seen dogs with sports tape on their bodies?
It’s not decoration — it’s rehab.

Tape can help with pain relief, swelling management, and guiding or restricting movement during recovery. It’s also used to activate or relax muscles — depending on what the body needs.

In humans, we can cue movement verbally.
In dogs, tape acts as a gentle sensory guide to help create the movement we want to encourage.

It’s never a fix on its own — just one of many tools we use as part of a structured, evidence-based rehab plan.

🩹 Tape with purpose. Movement matters.

Tired ≠ Happy.

It’s common to think more exercise will help a restless dog settle — but when the body isn’t moving well, fatigue can cause more strain than relief.

Dogs that overexert on stiff or sore joints often compensate,
and what looks fine after play may turn into stiffness or limping the next day.

At Nimble Paws, we focus on how your dog moves — because healthy movement builds strength, balance, and recovery.

A happy dog isn’t the most tired one. It’s the one that moves freely and feels good! 🐕

🐾 In case you missed it…

Over the last 3 weeks we shared our Beginner Friendly Home Exercise Series — here’s the full summary in one place:
✔️ Dog Squats (hindlimbs): 6–8 reps × 3 sets, every other day
✔️ Incline Push-ups (forelimbs): 6–8 reps × 3 sets, every other day
✔️ Balance & Coordination: Start at 15s holds, build up to 60s (3–5 holds, every other day)
These 3 simple drills cover strength + stability — the building blocks of healthy movement.

📌 Save this recap — and check out the full reels for demos.

✨ We’re officially back in action after our short break — appointments resume 20 Oct! And stay tuned… we’ve got some exciting things lined up for Q4 👀🐾

⚖️ Beginner Friendly Exercise #3: Balance & Coordination

Do you know that balance is one of the key pillars of exercise?

For dogs, balance work helps keep their movement stable, improves coordination, and builds body awareness. 🐾
✔️ Easy: Stand with front paws on one cushion and back paws on another — start with 15s holds
✔️ Progress: Build up gradually, aiming for up to 60s. Add head turns or alternate hand shakes for extra challenge.

🗓️ Do 3–5 sets, daily.

⚠️ PSA: Stop if your dog looks tired or frustrated.

🏠 Here’s the final exercise to try while the clinic is on break.

Osteopathy meets Physiotherapy at Nimble Paws 🐾

We’re excited to share that osteopathic techniques are now being integrated into our physiotherapy sessions.

I recently completed a Masterclass in Advanced Osteopathic Techniques 🇦🇺 as part of my ongoing Canine Osteopathy Diploma — another step in deepening how we support dogs (and cats) at Nimble Paws.

I’ve always believed in the power of hands-on therapy and movement. By blending osteopathic techniques with exercise-based physiotherapy, we’re expanding our rehab toolbox to better tailor treatment to each dog’s needs.

I’ll be gradually integrating these techniques into my sessions as part of this broader clinic evolution — and I’m excited for what’s ahead as our team grows 🌿

Curious how osteopathy can support your dog’s rehab journey? Drop me a DM or comment below 🐾

🐕‍🦺 Beginner Friendly Exercise #2: Dog Push-ups!

Just like we build upper body strength with push-ups, dogs can work theirs with the same exercise.
✔️ Easy: Elevated push-ups with front paws on a step (the higher the step, the easier it is)
✔️ Progress: Push-ups with front paws on the ground

🗓️ Aim for 6–8 reps, 3 sets, every other day.

⚠️ PSA: Keep reps slow and controlled.

Here’s another at-home exercise you and your dog can try while the clinic is on break.

📌 Save this to practice — next Wednesday we’ll wrap up with a balance drill.
