We don’t just want our seniors to age. We want them to thrive.
As Prime Minister Lawrence Wong delivers the statement today, a critical theme is emerging: the difference between providing help and offering support.
At HNF, we see this every day. A senior does not just need a nurse to dress a wound. They need a partner who helps them stay mobile so they can continue buying their own coffee at the downstairs kopitiam.
This CNA commentary reminds us that dignity is not preserved by removing all risk.
Home care is one way to enable right sized care. It supports seniors in ways that go beyond clinical needs:
🏠 Familiarity: Maintaining the routines and environments that define a person
🤝 Purpose: Staying connected to neighbourhoods, friendships and social circles
✨ Autonomy: Ensuring care adapts to the person, not the other way around
As we look to Budget 2026, we hope to see continued momentum toward sustained, relationship based care. Care that looks beyond medical outcomes to focus on dignity, quality of life and purpose.

Having better support for seniors means systems that are flexible enough and care that does not unintentionally replace agency, says Nura Hassan from 4S.
