Feeling sore after festive workouts? ๐Ÿ‹๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธ That achy feeling a day or two later is often Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS). It is a normal response when your muscles are challenged in new or more intense ways.

However, if the pain feels sharp, lasts longer than expected, or comes with swelling, it could signal a muscle strain or overuse injury rather than normal soreness.

โœ”๏ธ Tip: Rest well, stretch gently, and build strength gradually. Proper recovery supports muscle repair, lowers injury risk, and helps you stay active and pain-free throughout the festive season.

The festive season is a time when many people want to get in shape or tone up. While exercise is great for your muscles and joints, too much without enough rest can slow progress and leave you feeling fatigued.

โœ… Recovery tip: Schedule rest days, stay hydrated, and gradually increase workout intensity. Recovery helps your muscles rebuild, your joints stay healthy, and your energy remain high so you can enjoy your workouts safely.

๐Ÿ‘€ Stay tuned for our next post to learn how festive workouts can affect your joints.

Falls and fractures can be distressing for seniors, but knowing how to act can make recovery safer!

๐Ÿšจ Urgent injuries: Seek medical help immediately if there is heavy bleeding, deformity, a bone breaking the skin, or if the person is unresponsive.

๐Ÿšจ Non-urgent injuries: Keep the area still, apply gentle pressure if needed, use a splint only if trained, and apply ice wrapped in cloth to reduce swelling. Treat for shock by laying the person down with legs slightly raised if they feel faint.

Supporting recovery also means monitoring strength, encouraging gentle movement when safe, and creating a hazard-free environment to prevent future falls.
