Most people think tight muscles are just “stubborn” and needs more massage.
But the body doesn’t do random, tightness is usually a compensation.
Something else isn’t moving well, so that muscle steps up and works overtime.
I see this all the time in clinic. Someone comes in saying,
“Doc, I stretch and foam roll every day yet the the tightness and knots are still there.”
And 9 times out of 10, the problem isn’t the muscle at all
it’s a joint that’s not loading properly, a pattern that’s dysfunctional, or an old injury that’s still compensated for.
