New paper on

3-year results of (UCP) to treat glaucoma published by Jean-François , MD (France) and Florent , MD (France).

Journal of Glaucoma, 2021 May 1; 30(5):428-435
- 104 patients with primary or secondary glaucoma, only 44% with an history of glaucoma incisional surgery
- Single UCP procedure in 79% of eyes,
- IOP reduced from 27.6+/-8.9mmHg to 17.0+/-6.8mmHg at 3 years; few complications and no case of persistent hypotony or phthisis bulbi.
- 43% of IOP reduction in responding patients

“This is the first study reporting long-term results of UCP. It shows that UCP is an efficient and safe procedure to treat glaucoma and confirms the findings of comparable studies with shorter duration".

It is Ultrasound Cyclo Plasty (UCP) weekend!

Today the video is about the treatment procedure of the UCPFlex. The special design of the treatment probe and positioning cone allows the user to focus the ultrasound on target areas within the eyes with submillimeter precision.

So, why UCPFlex?

👉🏻 Can be used in clinic/outpatient settings (clean room)

Every glaucoma patient is unique!

UCP allows to titrate the dose to the patients' needs. The treatment can be repeated if needed. UCP can be used in patients at different stages of the disease, from moderate glaucoma under maximum hypotensive treatment to more advanced stages of this disease.
