Recently, I had a chance meeting with Haoming and Noah from . As we exchanged name cards, they noticed a familiar logo on mine — the AHS logo.

It turns out they were the creative minds behind the branding years ago.

I learned that AHS meets an icon mark of four petals coming together to form a medical cross in its negative space — a beautiful reminder of finding something positive within the negative.

The four heart-shaped petals represent AHS’s core values: Excellence, Empathy, Integrity, and One Team.

A thoughtful symbol of AHS’s commitment to patient-centric care.

Have you ever taken a closer look at the story behind your brand’s identity?

A lovely evening celebrating 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗚𝗹𝗮𝘂𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗮 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 with fellow Glaucoma Specialists from the 𝗚𝗹𝗮𝘂𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗮 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗲 👁️

Thank you to for organising the dinner, with great camaraderie and an insightful talk by Dr Rahat on the newest glaucoma combination eye drop, 𝗚𝗹𝗮𝗮𝗹𝗽𝗵𝗮.

Always meaningful to come together as a community to share knowledge and advance glaucoma care for our patients.

Glaucoma drops protect vision by lowering eye pressure 👁️✨

But some prostaglandin drops may cause 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻-𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗵𝘆 (𝗣𝗔𝗣𝗦) — sometimes giving a “𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮 𝗲𝘆𝗲” 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 🐼

If this occurs, your eye doctor may consider alternatives such as 𝘁𝗮𝗳𝗹𝘂𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘁 (𝗧𝗮𝗳𝗹𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗻-𝗦), 𝗧𝗮𝗽𝗰𝗼𝗺-𝗦, or 𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗴 (𝗘𝘆𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘀).

Always speak to your ophthalmologist before changing your eye drops.

👁️ Glaucoma is the Silent Thief of Sight 👀

Many patients have no symptoms until permanent vision loss occurs. With reports of younger adults developing glaucoma, awareness and screening are more important than ever.

Risk factors for glaucoma include:

🔴 Family history of glaucoma
🔴 Age >40
🔴 High eye pressure
🔴 Diabetes or vascular disease
🔴 High myopia (high short-sightedness)

Early detection through regular eye screening can help preserve your vision.

Have you screened your eyes yet? 👁️✨

Grateful for the trust of a dear friend 🙏

This post is dedicated to Dr , whom I’ve known since our medical school days (shared with his permission). When he recently developed worsening blurred vision in one eye due to a cataract, I was honoured that he entrusted me with his surgery.

The operation went smoothly and he is now seeing clearly again 👁️✨

A special thanks as well to our Anaesthetist, Dr Eileen () — also our medical school classmate — for her support during the operation. It’s always meaningful when friends come together to care for one another ❤️

PS: The 3 of us didn’t get a chance to take a photo together this time — will make sure to do so next time! 📸

As we celebrate the last day of Chinese New Year 🧧🎊 — marking the first full moon of the lunar year 🌕✨ — I’m reminded that behind every successful surgery is a team that quietly gives their all.

A heartfelt thank you to our incredible Nurses 🧑🏻‍⚕️👩🏻‍⚕️💙 and Anaesthetists 👨🏻‍⚕️👩🏻‍⚕️💉 in the surgical theatres and recovery day wards — for caring for our patients 🤍, keeping them safe 🛡️, reassuring them 😊, and walking with them through every step of their surgical journey. Your dedication truly makes all the difference 🙏✨

Back to clinic life — helping patients see better again 👁️✨

Took a short pause for mobilisation, and it was a timely reminder not to take the safety and stability of our country for granted, especially in today’s uncertain geopolitical climate 🇸🇬

Grateful for the chance to serve in uniform 🫡 and in scrubs 🥼💙
