In recent years, I’m seeing more patients who have already asked ChatGPT about their eye symptoms before coming to the clinic.

As highlighted in the Lifestyle article on the perils of AI health advice, reassurance from a chatbot can be misleading.

What looks like “just dry eye” online may be:
⚠️ Keratitis
⚠️ Uveitis
⚠️ Acute glaucoma

These are not conditions you can diagnose without a slit-lamp examination 🔍

AI can inform.
But only a proper eye exam can protect your vision 👁️✨

😂👁️ From “AI thinks I work in tech” ➜ “Ah, eye care specialist” ➜ “Now that looks like eye surgery.”

Three caricatures later, we finally landed there.
No stethoscopes, no refraction lanes — just microscopes, microsurgical instruments, and a very calm (and much happier 😌) patient.

A fun reminder that eye care is a broad spectrum, and surgery is one part of the story — where precision really counts. 👁️🔬✨

I’m pleased to share a study just published by our team at in the Journal of Clinical Medicine.

We studied the most commonly performed Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgeries (MIGS) in Singapore and globally — Hydrus® Microstent and iStent®. When combined with cataract surgery, these MIGS resulted in meaningful improvements in patients’ quality of life ✨
