𝗡𝗲𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗲𝗿𝗼𝗶𝗱 𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗼𝗳𝘂𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘀 (𝗡𝗖𝗟-𝟰𝗔) is an inherited neurological disorder caused by the buildup of harmful storage material in the brain, retina, and other tissues. 🧠 It affects American Staffordshire Terrier, American Pit Bull Terrier and Bull Terrier.

As the disease progresses, dogs may develop irritability, sudden aggressive outbursts, hallucinations, hyperactivity, and seizures. Over time, they lose coordination in everyday movements, show progressive ataxia, and experience significant changes in behavior.

NCL is a progressive condition, and early detection is essential for responsible owners and breeders.

They adapt well to apartment living, need regular grooming, and thrive on short daily walks and playful attention. Fearless, loyal, and full of character, they’re charming little partners with a bold streak. 🙂‍↕️

I am a bit late with everything this week as last one was very hectic, but here is finally the ad for tomorrow’s roundtable which I am sure we will all enjoy. My guests will be Petru Muntean from Romania, Ernesto Lara from the USA and George Kostopoulos from Greece.
Petru got his first dog, a Pekingese, in 1974. Since then he owned different breeds, but his main love are Dachshunds which he is breeding under “Dacia Aurea” prefix. In 2005 Petru became an all breeds judge and vice President of the Romanian Kennel Club and he still holds that position. He judged in over 70 countries all over the world and is a member of the FCI’s Standard Commission.
Ernesto started in the sport of dogs in Mexico in the late ‘70s with Airedale Terriers. He worked as a professional handler there and won over 100 Bests in Show before 1994 when he went to the USA to learn handling and grooming from Peter Green. When Peter retired Ernesto has taken over the reins of Greenfield Kennels. In the USA Ernesto has won numerous Bests in Show including the BIS at Westminster in 2013 and just few weeks ago BIS at Montgomery. He is also an all breeds judge licensed by the Mexican KC.
George was born in Athens and in his early age the interest in dogs led him to England and then to USA in order to widen his knowledge of dogs. While in England, he worked for boarding and breeding/show kennels. There he also gained the General Certificate of Canine Studies in 1988. In USA he specialized in professional dog training at the National K-9 School of Dog Trainers and in 1989 he graduated with the Master Trainer Certificate. He then started working together with a Professional Show Handler helping showing many different breeds at shows all over the United States. Back to Greece he started working as a professional dog obedience trainer and problem behavior counselor, which he did for 30 years. In the past he was a breeder of Afghan Hounds and Whippets with the kennel name ALLSATIN. Today he breeds and shows Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. He is an International FCI all breeds judge since 2007 and he judged in more then 50 countries all around the world.
