Intra-Uterine Insemination (IUI)

1 - What is Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) ?
------------------------------------------------
- IUI is one of the methods of assisted reproduction.
- in which washed s***m are injected directly into the uterine cavity.
- This is done near the woman’s ovulation period.

2 - Purpose of IUI ?
---------------------
- The cervix naturally limits the number of s***m that enters the uterus.
- in natural pregnancy attempts, only a limited number of s***ms can find their way into the Fallopian tubes.
- Directly inserting s***m into the uterus, travel to the Fallopian tubes becomes shorter and the probability of s***m contact with the egg increases, thereby increasing the chance of pregnancy.

3 - IUI process step by step ?
--------------------------------
- IUI involves steps :
* The process of ovulation induction
* S***m washing and condensation.
* S***m transfer to the uterus.

4 - When is IUI recommended?
----------------------------------
- Unexplained infertility.
- Low s***m count and motility in male partners.
- Ej*******on problems due to impotence or pe**le dysfunction.
- The presence of anti-s***m antibodies in semen.
- Ovulation problems ,like polycystic o***y syndrome (PCOS)
- Cervical damage that can prevent s***m from entering the uterus.
- Vaginismus in women (involuntary vaginal contractions that disrupt s*x).

5 - Post-IUI care , How ?
---------------------------
- After the IUI procedure, the woman rests for about an hour in a lying-down position, but after an hour, she can do her daily activities and does not need absolute rest.
- It is recommended to have s*x after the treatment process in the absence of bleeding and spotting. (Increases the fertility chance)
- Avoid using a bathtub or vaginal wash
- Avoid to***co and alcohol.

6 - Artificial Insemination Success Rates ?

- A pregnancy test can be performed 2 weeks after the s***m transfer.
- The positive pregnancy test indicates that the IUI process is successful.
- The success rate of IUI depends on the causes of infertility in couples.
- In men whose motility of s***m is inadequate,.

A rare case of Umbilical endometriosis sized 30 mm with multiple degenerated uterine leiomyomas and very low blood was referred to our hospital
After proper diagnosis and preparation of the patient to be fit for the operation, under Spinal Anesthesia and TAP block technique, we successfully did the operation with good hemostasis. 👌🙏👌

🎯 What is Polycystic o***y syndrome (PCOS) ?
1 - A hormonal disorder causing enlarged ovaries with small cysts on the outer edges.
2 - in which the ovaries produce an abnormal amount of androgens, male s*x hormones that are usually present in women in small amounts.

🎯 What causes PCOS?
1 - The exact cause of PCOS is not clear.
2 - Many women with PCOS have insulin resistance,This means the body can't use insulin well.
3 - Insulin levels build up in the body and may cause higher androgen levels.
4 - Obesity can also increase insulin levels and make PCOS symptoms worse.

🎯 What are the symptoms of PCOS?
1 - Missed periods, irregular periods, or very light periods.
2 - Ovaries that are large or have many cysts.
