The Sierra Leone Red Cross Society (SLRCS), through the Routine Immunization โ Find Everyone Everywhere (FEE) Project, supported by Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance successfully completed a district-level training for EPI Focal Persons and community mobilizers on Basic CPR and the management of Adverse Events Following Immunization (AEFI).
The training, conducted in makeni and kambia brought together 75 EPI focal persons at facility level,and 25 community mobilizers from Port loko, kambia, Bombali, Tonkolili and Karene district with facilitators from the Expanded ProgramonImmunization, and First Aid Trainers from SLRCS.
Through interactive presentations, group discussions, and hands-on CPR practice, participants strengthened their knowledge and practical skills to:
โ๏ธ Identify and manage AEFI cases early
โ๏ธ Provide immediate emergency response, including CPR
โ๏ธ Improve AEFI reporting and referral systems
โ๏ธ Ensure safe, ethical, and quality immunization services
