The Sierra Leone Red Cross Society (SLRCS), with support from and funding from the Government of Iceland, has successfully concluded inception meetings with district and national stakeholders for the new Community-Based Disaster Risk Reduction (CBDRR) project.
The initiative will be implemented in 17 fishing communities across five coastal districts โPort Loko, Moyamba, Bonthe, Kambia, and Pujehun. The project aims to strengthen community capacity in disaster preparedness and resilience through effective and sustainable CBDRR approaches, driven by social and behavioural change communication.
These inception meetings brought together key stakeholders from all five districts to build consensus and lay a solid foundation for smooth and impactful project implementation.
