When you unmask the marketing, what are you actually eating? 🍪🔍
Body: We look at a cookie and see a treat. But as a nutritionist, when I look at this image, I see a chemistry breakdown. This visual perfectly illustrates what ultra-processed food looks like deconstructed.
Let’s break down what’s really going into your body:
Refined Wheat Flour & Sugar: A double-whammy that leads to rapid glucose spikes.
Vegetable (Palm) Oil: Highly processed fats used for texture, not nutrition.
Additives: Emulsifiers and flavorings to make it hyper-palatable.
The Takeaway: I’m not saying you can never have a cookie. I’m saying know what you are eating. When you realize a cookie is mostly a pile of sugar and processed oil held together by flour, it becomes easier to make mindful choices.
Challenge: Next time you buy a snack, ignore the front of the package and read the ingredient list first!
