This is the Shabelle River, which flows through central and southern Somalia. It has long been a vital lifeline for farming communities, used to irrigate crops and provide water for livestock. Today, however, the river has dried up. This reflects the severe drought affecting the country and the growing humanitarian crisis faced by vulnerable communities.
