United Nations Support Office in Somalia - UNSOS Official account of UNSOS. UNSOS currently supports 21,126 uniformed personnel in the largest UN mandated peace support operation – AMISOM.

UNSC Res. 2809 (2025), adopted on 23 December, extends the mandate of until 31 December 2026, reaffirming continued support for stabilization efforts in . UNSOS replaced the United Nations Support Office for the African Union Mission in Somalia, UNSOA which was established in 2009, to provide critical logistic and life support to the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM), and l

ater to the Somali National Army (SNA), the United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM) and the Somalia and Eritrea Monitoring Group. UNSOS will also support an additional 10,900 Somali National Army personnel participating in its joint operations with AMISOM.

Fabio Mevoli, on behalf of the Acting ASG & Head of , addressed the for Women-Owned Businesses, underscoring that doing business with UNSOS is a gateway to the global United Nations marketplace.

He highlighted the importance of equipping Somali 🇸🇴 women entrepreneurs with the knowledge, confidence and tools to engage in UN procurement, compete for tenders and grow their businesses.

Mevoli noted encouraging progress, with increased participation of Somali vendors and more contracts awarded locally, while urging women-led businesses to seize untapped opportunities and remain actively engaged.

Reaffirming UNSOS’ commitment to fairness, transparency and local capacity development, he emphasized the role of partnerships in advancing inclusive economic growth. 🇺🇳
