HLSS Emergency Response in Old Fangak, Standing Strong Amidst the Floods:
As the country continues to struggle with the effects of the devastating floods over the years, the situation has become worse in Old Fangak. The Nile and Al Zeraf rivers have burst their banks once again, submerging homes, crops, and health facilities, exacerbating the health care needs. Residents are stranded, seeking shelter around Paguir PHCU with nothing other than clothing on their backs. Expectant and breastfeeding mothers with their children are particularly affected, facing brunt of the floods with extreme destitution.
With funding support from UNFPA South Sudan, dedicated HLSS professional emergency team continues to deliver life-saving Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) services at the overwhelmed and strained Paguir PHCU, with an average daily attendance of 40. HLSS further supports rescue missions to relocate stranded families to safety.
HLSS is committed to providing lifesaving health care services to the population in need, wherever they are, regardless of challenges.

HLSS with support from the MoH and UNCIEF launches a mass distribution of LLINs in Eastern Equatoria state capital Torit this morning , an event graced by senior MoH & HLSS officials from Juba. The first phase of the campaign covering three counties of Torit, Magwi and Ikotos commences today the 19th and ends on 28th December. All house holds in these Counties are expected to receive free of charge nets, at the homestead.
The door-to-door LLINs distribution campaign shall boost the fight against malaria, a leading cause of morbidity and mortality among the population in South Sudan.

This morning, our team received a high delegation from USAID represented by Jeff Bryan, The Director for The Office of Africa in USAID Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance, and Emily Dakin, The Regional Director for the Sudans, East and Central Africa. The delegation visited Gurei PHCC to Understand the Impact of USAID Funding on the beneficiaries and to Identify further gaps that affect Health Care Service Delivery.
Over 4,000 clients receive free of charge numerous Health Care services at this Health Facility, including Maternal, Neonatal & Child Health, Nutrition, HIV/AIDS, Family Planning, among others.
We appreciate the continued support from the American government to the South Sudanese Citizens.

HLSS with support from IOM/RRF scaled up life-saving Health and Nutrition services to over 19,000 displaced population, especially women, children, elderly, and persons living with disabilities, affected by the recent conflicts in Magwi County of Eastern Equatoria State.
A high-level delegation of IOM and HLSS Juba teams paid a monitoring visit to service delivery sites at Magwi PHCC, Lerwa and Ayii PHCUs.
We are forever grateful to IOM and donors for the continued life-saving support to the needy South Sudanese Population!

HLSS joins the rest of the world in celebrating the World Menstrual Hygiene Day, a day dedicated to promote good menstrual health and hygiene for all women and girls. We add our voice to break the Period stigma, including Taboos and access to hygienic menstrual products shall be increased across our Women and Girls’ Friendly facilities.

HLSS has received new supply of AstraZeneca Vaccine and support from UNICEF and MoH, to roll out Round II COVAX Vaccination campaign in Central and Eastern Equatoria States, beginning Monday 6th September. Priorities are those who received first Jab of the AstraZeneca Vaccine.

Those in Central Equatoria State, get your Jab from; Al Sabbah Children Hospital, Yei Civil Hospital, Malakia, Nyokuron, Munuki, Kator, Hai Jebel, Kimu, Gurei, Ghabat, Gumbo, Rajaf, Kor William, Mangala, Terekeka & Morobo PHCCs) and additional sites shall be available at Juba Teaching Hospital, Buluk Police Hospital, & Juba Military(Giyada) Hospital.

Those in Eastern Equatoria State, get your Jab from Torit State Hospital, Imehejek County Hospital, St. Theresa(Isohe) Mission Hospital, Chukudum Hospital, Kapoeta Civil Hospital & Nimule County Hospital.
