On September 12, 2025, EMRO Asia, in collaboration with Kyusei Nature Farming Center, hosted an International Workshop for participants from the World Vegetable Center. They explored major biotic constraints in vegetable production—pests, diseases, nematodes, and physiological disorders—through hands-on diagnosis, field observation, and sample collection.

The event has officially commenced today. The World Vegetable Center (WorldVeg), in partnership with Kasetsart University, is hosting the 42nd International Vegetable Training Course (IVTC) on Safe Vegetable Production, taking place from September 8–19, 2025.

Assoc. Prof. Anuchai Pinyopummin, DVM, Ph.D., Vice-President of Kasetsart University's Kamphaeng Saen Campus, together with Delphine Larrousse, Regional Director for East and Southeast Asia at WorldVeg, extended a warm welcome to 17 participants from 14 countries. The participants include representatives from the African-Asian Rural Development Organization (AARDO), as well as participants sponsored by Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA-Taiwan).

Over the course of the two-week program, participants will receive hands-on training and technical knowledge focused on safe vegetable production. Sessions will cover good agricultural practices (GAP), integrated pest management (IPM), soil health, and postharvest handling, with the aim of enhancing food safety and ensuring sustainable vegetable production in tropical regions.
