Tropical Disease Research Center (TDRC) is an independent, interdisciplinary laboratory of Khon Kaen University (KKU) established in 2005 under the support of the Faculty of Medicine (by allocating 5 new laboratory rooms) and the International Collaborations in Infectious Disease Research (ICIDR) Program from NIAID, National Institute of Health (NIH), United States (who provided budget grant for equipments and research supplies). The laboratory is affiliated with the Department of Pathology, Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University

Our department has the honor of hosting Prof. Steven W. Edwards from the Institute of Infection, Veterinary and Ecological Sciences, University of Liverpool.
