Our GHA team and surveyors recently completed the Advanced Infection Prevention and Control (AIPC) Training Program, led by Heather Stoltzfus, MPH, RN, CIC, Program Director.

This in-depth program enhances understanding of evidence-based strategies to reduce infection risks, strengthen organizational readiness, and promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Participants explored global standards, real-world case studies, and practical tools to elevate infection prevention excellence across healthcare systems.

I had the opportunity to visit Guangzhou Women and Children’s Medical Center in Guangzhou, China 🇨🇳, to introduce the development and review of international accreditation standards 🌐.

As one of China’s leading hospitals dedicated to women’s and children’s health, Guangzhou Women and Children’s Medical Center is the largest institution of its kind in central and southern China, integrating prevention, treatment, healthcare, research, and education.

📍 Located at No. 9 Jin Sui Road, Tianhe District, Guangzhou, the center operates across five campuses with over 2,400 beds, and enjoys a national reputation in pediatrics.
Key highlights include:
• Ranked 4th nationally in pediatric surgery (Fudan University Rankings)
• Ranked 8th in pediatric medicine, with five nationally recognized key clinical specialties (respiratory diseases, gastrointestinal diseases, surgery, neonatology, and genetics & endocrinology)
• 10 provincial-level key specialties

The center is also distinguished for:
• Heart transplants (18 per year)
• Stem cell transplants (50 per year)
• Gene therapy
• Da Vinci robotic surgery
• Fetal medicine

🌏 International collaborations include partnerships with Boston Children’s Hospital and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. The center also serves as a national training base for maternal and child health, aligned with China’s Belt and Road Initiative.

To enhance global patient services, the hospital established an International Medical Center, serving international patients and expatriates in Guangdong Province. Its vision is to strengthen the Patient Journey, emphasizing international standards to improve patient experience, clinical outcomes, and long-term sustainability of healthcare management.

I had the opportunity to visit Care Life Rehabilitation Hospital in Shenzhen, China, 🇨🇳 to introduce the development and implementation of international accreditation standards from the very foundation of its establishment. 🌐

Care Life Rehabilitation Hospital positions itself as a pioneering 100% international rehabilitation hospital in China, with an ambitious vision to serve as a leader in rehabilitation medicine across nine pilot cities, including Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Shanghai, and Beijing. Its services span orthopedic rehabilitation, neurological rehabilitation, and elderly care, addressing the growing needs of China’s aging population.

With a strategic investment of over 3 billion RMB, Care Life employs an asset-light model and collaborates with leading global institutions such as Harvard University and top Traditional Chinese Medicine universities. This partnership enables the transfer of cutting-edge knowledge and technologies, including AI, robotics, virtual reality, and electronic medical record systems.

The hospital’s roadmap includes:
• Establishing a network of rehabilitation hospitals across nine cities by 2027
• Expanding into smart rehabilitation technologies and home-based rehabilitation services by 2030
• Becoming a leading Asia–Pacific rehabilitation hub by 2035

A flagship project of 280 million RMB, spanning 38,000 square meters with 400 beds, is set for completion and operation by the end of 2025.

I had the opportunity to visit Shangyi Medical Care in Guangzhou — a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) clinic. During the visit, we introduced international standards that aim to connect quality, patient experience, and medical tourism with China’s local wisdom and cultural heritage, bringing it to the global stage.

🙏 We extend our gratitude to Dr. Nie Xiaoling, Founder of Guangzhou Shangyi Medical Technology Co., Ltd., for her warm welcome and visionary leadership.

Dr. Nie Xiaoling is a graduate of Sanzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and has extensive clinical experience in Tier 3A hospitals as well as leading international hospitals. She currently serves as CEO of Guangzhou Shangyi Medical Technology Co., Ltd. and Guangshangyi (Guangzhou) Traditional Chinese Medicine Clinic.

Her distinguished career includes serving as Head of the Outpatient Clinic at the Beijing Sanlitun International Community Gathering Center. She is also Director of the Traditional Chinese Medicine Personnel Information Branch and an esteemed council member of the World Federation of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Over the years, Dr. Nie Xiaoling has provided TCM diagnosis and treatment services to more than 100 embassies, consulates, and diplomats worldwide, earning recognition and respect in international diplomacy. Under her leadership, Guangzhou Shangyi Medical Technology Co., Ltd. continues to preserve China’s valuable cultural heritage while promoting the enduring essence of “Qi Huang Medicine.”

Her guiding principle remains:
“Work with dedication to build a community with a shared future for humanity.”

We are honored to have met with the executive leadership team of Kao-Ho Hospital (高禾醫院) in Kaohsiung, Taiwan 🇹🇼 to introduce and discuss future development plans, including the adoption of AACI accreditation standards.

On this occasion, we were privileged to have Professor Yang Tsung-Lung, MD. join us in shaping the hospital’s strategic direction toward becoming a regional center of excellence in Integrative Medicine and the application of Stem Cell therapies.

Kao-Ho Hospital is firmly committed to advancing patient safety and quality of care, while also expanding Medical Travel Accreditation in collaboration with Global Healthcare Accreditation (GHA). This dual focus will enhance the Patient Experience and support Business Sustainability, which together form the foundation of Taiwan’s vision to become a distinguished Medical Hub.

This session was part of the
2nd Generation Course for Developing Human Potential in Wellness Accommodations (Non-Degree Certificate)
under Thailand’s higher education reform initiative to produce skilled professionals ready to meet the demands of the rapidly growing wellness tourism and hospitality industry.

Participants gained insights into international standards and practical strategies to design and deliver safe, high-quality wellness services that inspire trust and exceed expectations.
